MARIETTA – As rain and the possibility of snow moves into the area, local officials are warning people to be prepared for the possibility of rain, snow, flooding and more.
In Washington County, Sheriff Larry R Mincks this morning issued a level one snow emergency. Level one means roads are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow, roads are icy and people are advised to cautiously drive.
School delays and closures also were issued in Ohio, including Caldwell Exempted Village (two-hour delay), Federal Hocking (two-hour delay), Fort Frye Local (two-hour delay), Frontier Local (Closed), Morgan Local Schools (Closed), Noble Local Schools (two-hour delay), St. John Central Grade School (two-hour delay), Switzerland of Ohio Schools (two-hour delay), Warren Local Schools (two-hour delay) and Wolf Creek Local Schools (two-hour delay).
Belpre Elementary School remains closed due to a heating issue.
West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice declared a State of Preparedness for all 55 counties in the state as the threat of high winds and potential flooding moves into the area, according to a press release issued by the governor's office.
