Wood BOE to consider 24-25 calendar today

WILLIAMSTOWN — The Wood County Board of Education is expected to approve the final calendar for the 2024-25 school year when it meets today at Williamstown Middle High School.

The meeting is open to the public and will be streamed online.

The board will receive a presentation on the proposed calendar by Director of Elementary Education Heather Grant and hold the second and final public calendar hearing. Two draft calendars have been available for review and comment for the past month.

The board will recognize the 2023 Class A state champion Williamstown High School football and volleyball teams and students at Williamstown Middle High School and Jackson Middle School for completing i-Ready math and/or reading lessons.

The board will receive an update from Transportation Director Chad Bloss and information on the district’s upcoming open enrollment period from Justin Hartshorn, assistant superintendent of academics and leadership, and Eric Murphy, technology integration specialist.

In addition to financial and personnel matters, the board will consider two employee disciplinary actions.
