Buckeye Hills Regional Council Executive Commitee Meeting

The Buckeye Hills Regional Council Executive Committee will meet at 11:30 a.m. today, at the Buckeye Hills Regional Council office, 1400 Pike St., Marietta. The purpose of the meeting is to provide updates on projects throughout the region.

Area 15 Workforce Development Board Meeting

Area 15 Workforce Development Board members from Monroe, Morgan, Noble and Washington Counties will hold a meeting from 9-11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, at Lori's Restaurant, 17020 McConnelsville Road, Caldwell. In addition, the county commissioners from Monroe, Morgan, Noble, and Washington Counties have scheduled an Area 15 Council of Governments meeting the same day to follow at noon. The agenda will be available at https://www.omj15.com/our-boards prior to the meeting.

Washington County Sheriff Candidate Debate

A Candidate Debate will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7 at Washington State Community College's Graham Auditorium located inside the Arts and Sciences building. The Washington State Community College Criminal Justice Club will host a debate between the two candidates running for Washington County Sheriff, Mark Warden and Greg Nohe. The debate is open to the public. WSCC's Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Sarah Parker will serve as moderator.

OneOhio Region 12 Committee Meeting

The next regular meeting of the OneOhio Region 12 Committee will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at the John McIntire Library, 220 North Fifth St., Zanesville. The purpose of this meeting is to receive updates from the OneOhio Foundation related to the rollout of grant technology and to hear from community partners working to address the opioid crisis.

Advisory Committee Meeting

The Washington County Transportation Advisory Committee (Way2Go) will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, at Buckeye Hills Regional Council, 1400 Pike St. in Marietta. Questions regarding this meeting should be directed to Julia Hinzman, Mobility Manager, at 1-800-331-2644 ext. 2410.

Free Tax Return Preparation

AARP Tax-Aide is offering free tax return preparation for all taxpayers on Mondays and Thursdays starting Feb. 1 to April 11. Schedule appointments by calling Washington County Library (Main Branch) at 740-373-1057. No walk-ins are accepted. Taxpayers should bring all their tax documents including any letters from the IRS along with a copy of last year's tax return plus picture ID and Social Security cards for all family members.
