Highway Patrol announces OVI checkpoint location
The Ohio State Highway Patrol, in conjunction with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, will conduct an OVI checkpoint from 9 p.m. to midnight today on Ohio 7 near Washington County 9 in Marietta.
Funded by federal grant money, the checkpoint is intended to deter and intercept impaired drivers. It is being held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes, according to a release from the patrol.
