Buckeye Hills Regional Council Executive Committee Meeting

The Buckeye Hills Regional Council Executive Committee will meet at 11:30 a.m. today, at the Buckeye Hills Regional Council office, 1400 Pike Street, Marietta. Hervida Camp Board annual chicken BBQ dinner

The Hervida Camp Board will be hosting their annual chicken BBQ and Country Store at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at Camp Hervida, ​​1260 Camp Hervida Rd, Waterford. They will be offering half chicken meals for $15 and quarter chicken meals for $12.50 for dining on-site as well as carry-out. The meal includes chicken, green beans, baked potato, roll, applesauce or coleslaw, and dessert. Drinks are available if dining on-site. Tickets will be sold on-site.

Community breakfast buffet

Matamoras #374, Free and Accepted Masons, 301 Main Street, New Matamoras, will be holding a community breakfast buffet, from 8-11 a.m. Saturday, May 4. The breakfast includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, sausage gravy, hash browns, biscuits, pancakes, a cinnamon roll, orange juice, and coffee. The public is invited to attend. Carry out is available. The suggested donation is $7 per person. Profits from the breakfast support Grand Lodge of Ohio Charitable Foundation, the Ohio Masonic Communities, and local charities. Matamoras #374 is designated an IRS 501C10 charitable organization.

Baked steak benefit dinner

Mary's House will be having a Baked Steak Benefit Dinner from 4:30-7 p.m., Saturday, May 4, at St. James Catholic Church, 257 East Bell Ave., McConnelsville. A meal is $15 per person and includes baked steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, homemade noodles, green beans, a roll, and dessert. Proceeds from the dinner will be benefiting Mary's House which serves expectant mothers as they learn to care for themselves and their newborn children. Mother's Day Dinner

A Mother's Day Dinner will be 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, May 12, at St. Henry's Catholic Church, St. Rt. 145 Harrietsville, Lower Salem.

The cost is $15 for adults and $7 for children 10 and under. The meal includes chicken or ham and sides. Take-out is available in the basement serving line. For information, contact Debbie Biehl at 740-373-2882.

Marietta Township School reunion

The Marietta Township School Reunion will be noon May 18 at the Marietta Township Community Building in Reno. Schools include former students and teachers of Sandhill, Reno, Goose Run, Jennings Hill, Cornerville, Barker, Yankeeburg and Eight Mile. Meat, coffee, tea and table service provided. Lawrence Alumni Reunion

The Friends of Lawrence School are currently planning a reunion. This event will be held on June 1 at Frontier High School. For those that graduated from Lawrence School, they have your address. Classes/Workshops/Seminars

Zumba Classes

Zumba classes will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and 11:30 a.m. Monday at the O'Neill Center. The cost is $5 per class or $25 for six classes. All ages welcome. For more information, call 740-373-3914.

Ballroom Dancing Classes

Weekly ballroom dancing classes will be held 7-10 p.m. the second, third and fourth Saturdays of the month at Miller Prosthetics, 2311 Ohio Ave., Parkersburg. Dress is casual. Cost is a $5-per-person donation with singles and couples welcome.

Free Western Dance Lessons

The YMCA of Marietta will be holding free Western Dance Lessons from 7-9 p.m. every Tuesday. For more information call 740-374-7030.
