Peoples Bank Foundation donates to three Wood County groups

Three organizations in Wood County have received contributions from the Peoples Bank Foundation, the foundation has announced.
The Mid-Ohio Valley Multi-Cultural Festival, The Amputee Center and Discovery World on Market each received $2,500.
The annual Multi-Cultural Festival encourages the appreciation and recognition of diversity through entertainment, cuisine, education and artistic expression.
The contribution to the Amputee Center will be used for the construction of an office for staff. The Amputee Center offers many opportunities for anyone who is living with any level of limb loss or limb difference to socialize, learn, work out and re-energize.
The donation to Discovery World will support the Museums for All program through the Institute of Museums and Library Services. Through Museums for All, individuals receiving food assistance can access free or discounted entry to more than 1,200 museums across the United States by presenting their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Electronic Benefit Transfer card.
"Children are the future and ensuring our local children get access to fun educational opportunities is important," Ashley Brown, Peoples Bank Senior vice president and regional manager, said. "We are impressed with Discover World and the work Wendy Shriver and team are doing and are proud to be able to support their mission."
Peoples Bank Foundation was started by Peoples Bank in 2003.
Since then, the foundation has presented more than $7 million in grants and scholarships.
The foundation also recently announced a $12,000 contribution to the Southeastern Ohio Port Authority, an economic development organization in Washington County.
