Marietta Police Reports
April 30
¯ Police started an investigation in reference to fraudulent charges on a Lowe’s card account. At this time the investigation is ongoing.
¯ Police responded to the 800 block of Pike Street in reference to a damaged automatic car wash.
¯ Police responded to Colonial Terrace apartments in reference to a protection order violation. After investigation, police learned the victim’s husband had violated a protection order that was in place between the two of them. A warrant will be requested for a protection order violation.
¯ Police met with an employee from East of Chicago. The employee dropped off a black bicycle that was left behind at the restaurant. The bicycle will be placed in the evidence cage.
May 1
¯ Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Second Street in reference to the theft of a handicapped chairlift rain cover. The suspect has been identified and a warrant was requested for his arrest.
May 2
¯ Police responded to a residence on Virginia Street in reference to the unattended death of a 65-year-old female. The death appeared to have been from natural causes and no foul play was suspected. The coroner released the female’s body to a funeral home.
¯ Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Pike Street in reference to an assault that occurred May 1. Police made contact with the victim and a witness. A summons has been requested for the suspect for assault.
¯ Police responded to the 700 block of Front Street in reference to a disturbance with violence. The suspect left prior to police’s arrival. A refusal of investigation was signed and no charges are being filed at this time.
¯ An individual arrived at the Marietta Police Station to report cash being stolen from a purse in the 700 block of Front Street The investigation is ongoing.
May 3
¯ Police began an investigation into an internet crimes against children case.
¯ Police responded to Jaycee Estates apartments in reference to an unattended death. After investigation, police determined an 82-year-old female had died from natural causes. The coroner released the woman’s body to a funeral home.
¯ Police responded to the 200 block of Meigs Street in reference to an overdose. Police found an unresponsive male laying on the ground. The Marietta Fire Department was called to the scene and they revived the male and transported him to Marietta Memorial Hospital.
¯ Police stopped a vehicle for a violation and spoke with the driver. Police learned the driver had an active warrant through Marietta Municipal Court from a previous driving under suspension charge. Hank E. Combs, 27, was arrested on the warrant, served a copy of the warrant and was transported to jail.
May 4
¯ Police began an investigation of a criminal damaging complaint involving a motor vehicle. At this time the investigation is ongoing.
¯ Police responded to Walmart in reference to a woman in the store concealing items. Police made contact with the suspect when she was attempting to leave the store with 232 items valued at $2,475. Shanniah C. Kemp, 27, was arrested for felony theft and taken to jail.
¯ Police were advised that a man had two active warrants. The man was located walking around the intersection of Putnam Avenue and Gilman Avenue. Kenneth R. McIntyre, 58, was arrested on both warrants and transported to the Washington County Jail.
May 5
¯ Police responded to Quarry Street in reference to a male with a knife. Police located the man, who was no longer armed, but had blood running down his leg. After investigation, police learned the man was suffering from a mental health crisis and had harmed himself. The man was transported to the hospital for a mental evaluation.
May 6
¯ Police were dispatched to Hillcrest Drive in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arriving on the scene, police made contact with the victim who said his ex-girlfriend had taken items from his apartment. At this time the case remains under further investigation.
¯ Police responded to a store on Muskingum Drive and encountered a female suspect after she had stolen merchandise from the store and began attacking objects. The woman was taken to the hospital for mental evaluation due to her mental state and will be summonsed for theft.
¯ Police responded to the Walmart in reference to a disturbance in the parking lot. Police located Sarah L. Thompson, 38, and arrested her on an outstanding warrant from Perry County, Ohio.
May 9
¯ Police were patrolling the Marietta High School parking lot on Academy Drive when they observed a running vehicle occupied by two students who were laid back in their seats on their cell phones and not in class. Police contacted the principal who came to the vehicle. A female student excited the vehicle and screamed obscenities at the principal and police. A summons will be requested for disorderly conduct for the female student through the Washington County Juvenile Court.
¯ Police responded to Walmart in reference to a male and female stealing items. Upon arriving at the scene, police made contact with Walmart’s asset protection agents and found the two individuals stole $162 in items. Joshua L. Dahlman, 42, and Lyrisha M. Randolph, 26, were charged with theft and released on scene.
¯ Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired plates. Upon speaking with the driver, police found there was an active warrant for her arrest through Noble County. Madison L. Mull, 24, was detained and transported to Noble County where she was transferred over to a Noble County deputy.
May 10
¯ Police received a phone call from a hysterical man saying he was bloody and his parents were trying to kill him. Police found that the man was intoxicated and having a mental health episode. The man was taken to the hospital for treatment.
¯ Police were dispatched to a residence on Muskingum Drive in reference to an assault. Upon investigating, police learned a man purposely struck his male family member in the head with the blunted end of a claw hammer. Zachary Matthew Hupp, 18, was arrested on a charge of felonious assault with a deadly weapon and transported to the Washington County Jail.
May 11
¯ Police responded to Tudor’s Biscuit World and spoke with the complainant regarding a disturbance between staff members. One party alleged he was assaulted.
¯ Police responded to the 300 block of Putnam Street in reference to a theft complaint regarding a cell phone that was left behind in a shopping cart.
May 13
¯ Police were dispatched to a residence in the 720 block of Fourth Street in reference to vehicle damage from a fallen tree branch. Upon investigating, police learned a vehicle was parked outside the residence on the west side of Fourth Street and a tree limb fell on it, causing damage to its hood.
May 14
¯ Police responded to the 100 block of Linwood Avenue in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon investigation, police learned a man pushed down his pregnant live-in girlfriend and requested a warrant for the man. Daniel Hebert, 27, was located and arrested for felony domestic violence.
¯ Police were dispatched to a residence on East Spring Street in reference to a property damage complaint. The resident reported finding a car window broken out. At this time, the incident is still under investigation.
¯ Police arrested Brittany A. Science, 25, on two active warrants. Science was transported to the Washington County Jail.
May 15
¯ A man self-reported to police that he had sought out and viewed child pornography in the past three years. Police initiated an investigation into the statement and it is ongoing.
¯ Police responded to the 600 block of Phillips Street in reference to a dog bite. The incident was forwarded to the Washington County Dog Warden.
May 16
¯ Police took a report of a missing or stolen Ohio license plate which occurred in the 300 block of Fourth Street.
¯ Police were requested to go to a business in the 100 block of Second Street. Upon arriving, police learned a man was trying to get into a vehicle that wasn’t his. The owner of the vehicle confronted the man numerous times and advised him to leave the vehicle alone. On the third occasion, the man became argumentative and pushed the vehicle owner who then fell on the ground. A male was transported for possible injuries/alcoholism. Police investigated the incident.
May 17
¯ Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expedited tags at the interaction of Third and Butler streets. Upon investigation, police learned the driver had an active warrant for his arrest. Markeys A. Glover II, 27, was taken into custody and transported to the Washington COunty Jail.
¯ Police were dispatched to Marietta Memorial Hospital in reference to a patient making threats toward his father. After investigating, police arrested Charles Roger Conkle Jr., 41, on a charge of domestic violence by threat.
May 18
¯ Police arrested Aaron L. Dunn, 46, on an active warrant and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
¯ Police responded to an apartment in the 100 block of Washington Street in reference to domestic violence disturbance. Upon investigation, police learned a man struck his live-in partner with an object and made further threats of violence against his partner. Ethan E. Hall, 34, was located on Pike Street and arrested on one charge of domestic violence and one charge of domestic violence by threat. Hall was transported to the jail.
May 19
¯ Police transported an individual experiencing a mental crisis to Marietta Memorial for evaluation.
May 20
¯ Police were at Marietta Elementary School and learned of two male students who had been in an altercation where one student punched the other student in the face several times. Police observed the left lower eye of one of the male students was swollen, red and starting to turn black and blue. A summons will be issued through juvenile court for assault for one of the male students.
¯ Police received a report from Washington County Veteran Services that a suspect damaged a brick wall on its property during the late evening/early morning hours.
May 21
¯ Police responded to Lowes regarding two shoplifting incidents. Police spoke with loss prevention and learned that an Ego battery powered lawn mower valued at $749 was taken May 17 and two Ormond Minka ceiling fans valued at $250 each were taken May 19. Police arrested the suspect in both cases for a third theft on May 22.
May 22
¯ Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Second Street in reference to a woman finding what appeared to be human feces on her vehicle’s windshield. Police reviewed video of the incident, which showed a man carrying the substance in a sock and throwing it at the woman’s car. The investigation is ongoing.
¯ Police responded to Long John Silver’s in reference to a criminal mischief call. Upon arriving on scene, police learned a former employee threw two fish tacos on the complainant’s vehicle.
¯ Police were dispatched to Acme Street in reference to a fallen tree damaging two vehicles in a parking lot.
¯ Police responded to Lowes in reference to a theft complaint. Police learned a suspect had stolen an air conditioner and fled the area. Police conducted a traffic stop on the suspect’s vehicle. Joseph A. Sunderman, 47, was arrested for theft and charged with two prior theft incidents on May 17 and May 22.
¯ Police responded to the 900 block of Lancaster Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. After investigating, police learned that a man and woman had gotten into an argument and during the argument the man pushed the woman down and placed his hands around her throat. Korey Lafferre, 30, was arrested and charged with strangulation and domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.
May 23
¯ Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Sheldon Avenue in reference to telephone harassment. Upon arriving onscene, police spoke with the victim who advised the father of her children keeps calling her and the children and she wants it to stop. Police later made contact with the man and advised him not to have any more contact with the woman or the children.
¯ Police responded to a residence in the East Norwood neighborhood in reference to a crisis line call from the residence. Upon arriving onscene, police spoke to the caller and found they were having a medical issue. The individual was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital.
May 24
¯ Police were dispatched to a residence on Fourth Street in reference to a disturbance. Upon arriving, police made contact with the victim who advised the father of her daughter had made threats against her. This case remains under further investigation.
¯ Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Matthews Street in reference to a sexual assault. Upon arriving onscene, police made contact with the victim. The case remains under further investigation.
¯ Police responded to Walmart in reference to a male and female shoplifter.
After investigating, police learned the man and woman had attempted to steal multiple items valued at $193 by hiding them in the woman’s wheelchair and exiting the store.
David J. McCutcheon, 35, and Jeri D. Woodward, 37, were charged with theft and released on signed personal recognizance bonds for a later court date.
May 25
¯ Police responded to the 300 block of Putnam Street in reference to a disturbance. Police made contact with the victim who advised his ex-girlfriend would not get out of his vehicle. Police made contact with the ex-girlfriend and she refused to exit the vehicle or identify herself to police. Alexuss S. Barnhouse, 20, was arrested for failure to disclose personal information and vehicle trespass. Barnhouse resisted arrest and was additionally charged for it and was taken to the Washington County Jail.
¯ Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Sixth Street. in reference to a fight. Both parties fled prior to police arriving. Through investigation, police determined the fight was mutual and both parties will have a summons request for them to answer for the charge of disorderly conduct by fighting.
May 26
¯ Police were dispatched to the 800 block of Front Street in reference to an assault. Upon arriving onscene, police made contact with the victim, who completed a statement and had already received medical attention before police arrived. At this time, the case remains under further investigation.
¯ Police met with the manager of the Red Roof Inn on Pike Street in reference to the theft of money.
¯ Police were dispatched to Marietta Memorial Hospital in reference to a doctor’s concern for a mother and her children. A Children’s Services referral is being conducted and the investigation is ongoing.
May 27
¯ Police investigated an overdose in the 600 block of Seventh Street. The subject was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital by the Marietta Fire Department.
¯ Police responded to Marietta Memorial Hospital to assist a woman who was locked out of her vehicle. A developmentally delayed passenger was inside the vehicle. An unlock waiver was completed and police made entry into the vehicle with no issues.
¯ Police responded to the 200 block of Pike Street in reference to a fight. After investigating, police learned a woman attempted to fight another woman. The woman’s boyfriend held her back and she scratched him. Amy L. Harley, 48, was cited for disorderly conduct by fighting.
