Boys & Girls Club receives $5K from foundation

SISTERSVILLE — A $5,000 grant has been awarded to the Boys and Girls Club of Tyler County from Memorial Health Foundation.
The funds will be used for the club’s summer program and will improve the health and well-being of Tyler County youth by allowing 25 youths to participate in the program free of charge, Morgan Najar, Boys and Girls chief executive officer, said.
The grant will provide the summer club membership dues and cover:
• Education, leadership, physical fitness, social interactions, mental health, STEAM and community involvement programs, among others.
• One grab-and-go breakfast per child per day
• One hot lunch, per child, per day
• One grab-and-go snack, per child, per day
• Field trips
• Boys and Girls Club nationally trained Youth Development Professionals caring for club members and implementing quality programming
The presentation was made on June 25. Among those in attendance were: Executive Director Jarrett S. Stull of the Memorial Health Foundation; Senior Philanthropy Officer Susie Warman of Memorial Health Foundation; dan Breece, vice president of physician services and chief medical officer of Memorial Health System; Heidi McGowan, hospital administrator of Memorial Health
System’s Sistersville General Hospital; and Heather Straight, a well-known primary care provider.
Memorial Health Foundation offers two grant cycles per year where funds are donated to support
local non-profits with similar missions to the health system. As a not-for-profit organization, Memorial Health Foundation is dedicated to building a healthier community including through education, special patient assistance funds and charity care.
Grants are prioritized to meet the financial needs of Memorial Health System, but the foundation designates funds each year to support nonprofits with a similar mission to the health system.
