Three arrested in Cutler on drug and weapons charges

CUTLER — Three people were arrested last week for possession of approximately one third of a pound of methamphetamine and weapons charges.

Southeast Major Crimes Task Force agents executed a search warrant at a residence at 11776 State Route 555, Culter, on Aug. 9, and found 151.28 grams of methamphetamine, $2,409 and 26 firearms, according to a Washington County Sheriff’s Office media release.

The amount of methamphetamine found is approximately one third of a pound.

The release said there were four people at the residence when the search was conducted and the search revealed a safe which contained approximately 151.28 grams of methamphetamine and mail addressed to David William Stratton, whose address was listed the same as the residence. The release also said agents also found multiple dime baggies and drug abuse instruments.

Agents searched the master bedroom, which Stratton and a woman named Julia Mae Porter said was their bedroom, according to the release, and found approximately 22 firearms, some of which were loaded, in the bedroom and located four more firearms in an office attached to the garage.

The release said Stratton admitted he took the four guns from the house and put them in the office to store.

Porter, 57, and Stratton, 68, of 11776 State Route 555, Cutler, were arrested and each charged with a third-degree felony count of having weapons under disability, a first-degree felony count of possession of drugs and a first-degree felony count of trafficking in drugs.

Joann Irizarry, 60, of 275 Lake Road, Fleming, was arrested and charged with a fifth-degree felony count of possession of drugs, according to the release.

The fourth person found at the residence, a male, was not identified in the release nor did it state he was arrested or charged with anything.

Porter, Stratton and Irizarry were transported to the Washington County Jail pending their appearance in Marietta Municipal Court, the release said.

According to the release, Porter, Stratton and Irizarry were arraigned in Marietta Municipal Court Monday, and Irizarry was released on a personal recognizance bond, while Porter and Stratton are each being held on a $100,000 bond.
