Marietta Police Reports

The Marietta Police Department released the following reports:

Oct. 15

* An officer responded to Lafayette Plaza in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, the officer spoke to the complainant and found someone had entered her, the complainant’s, vehicle and stole several items from it on Oct. 12.

* An officer was dispatched to the Marietta Walmart in reference to narcotic items located in the toy aisle on display. After reviewing the CCTV, a customer, Lisa Marie Joy, 49, was identified as the person who had left the items there. Jay was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and littering.

* An officer responded to an unruly juvenile. After investigation, it was learned the juvenile had made both suicidal comments as well as homicidal comments towards family members as a result, the juvenile was transported to the hospital for mental evaluation.

Oct. 16

* An officer caught a male student smoking marijuana in the second floor bathroom of Marietta High School. When confronted, the male student said he was the one responsible and gave up the suspected pot pipe which contained suspected marijuana residue. A summons will be sent to Washington Juvenile Court for the charge of drug paraphernalia.

Oct. 18

* Around midnight, an officer responded to the Boat House BBQ in reference to a stolen purse containing cash. The officer located the purse, which contained no cash. This investigation is ongoing and a suspect has been identified.

* An officer responded to headquarters in reference to an adult son having issues with his father. After investigation it was learned the issues were civil in nature.

* An Echo weed eater was stolen off a vehicle parked at 315 Gross St.

Oct. 19

* An officer was dispatched to 219 Second St. in reference to people hanging out in a “no trespassing” area. On the scene, the officer located three people and after a check of their names, it was revealed that one, Darin S. Miller, 47, had a warrant through Marietta Municipal Court. As a result, Miller was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail.

* An officer observed a female whom a identified as Angela S. Johnson, 50, who had an active warrant. Johnson was arrested for the same and taken to the Washington County Jail.

Oct. 20

* An officer responded to a juvenile dealing with mental health issues; the officer blue-slipped the juvenile and he was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Oct. 21

* Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Greene Street in reference to an intoxicated male being sick near a business. Officers made contact with the male in the 100 block of Pike Street where he was found to have crossed Pike Street while under the influence of a substance. Earlier in the day, officers had cited the same male for being there. Justin D. Deems, 44, was arrested for disorderly conduct. Deems was transported to Marietta Memorial for medical clearance and then transported to the Washington County Jail.
