The MOV’n Dragons invite the community to join them for laidback Sunday evening dragon boat paddling on the Muskingum River on June 8 and 22.

A dragon boat is a 44-foot-long water craft that seats 20 paddlers. Paddlers sit side by side in 10 rows and use a single paddle to propel the boat. A steers-person stands in the back of the boat and a drummer leads from the front. Dragon boats originated centuries ago in China. Today, there are dragon boat races throughout the world.

Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) and paddles are provided. No registration required. Show up at the Broughton (Tiger Navy) Boathouse at 6:30 p.m. to get outfitted. They will be on the water from 7-8 p.m. The cost is $5. You must be at least 18 years of age to participate. Bring a water bottle, a hat and sunglasses. Dress accordingly, as this is a water activity. In case of bad weather or river conditions, cancellations will be posted on the MOV’n Dragons Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/MovnDragons.
