Belpre City Council approves multiple motions Monday
BELPRE — Belpre City Council approved several motions at its regular meeting Monday evening.
Council approved the third readings of ordinances extending the moratorium on new substance counseling services for another year, changing the lot yard and height requirements in commercial and manufacturing zones and a resolution designating the public depository for active, inactive and interim funds of the city of Belpre.
Two committee meetings were scheduled, the Rules Committee for 6 p.m. Aug. 18 and the Police and Fire Committee for 7:15 p.m. Aug. 25.
In her report to council, Mayor Susan Abdella said the city has received a couple of complaints about properties within the city limits that are actually township issues. These concerns are being routed to the trustees. They do prefer that neighbors file a nuisance complaint at their meetings.
Abdella said Belpre, in collaboration with Wood Washington Wirt Interstate Commission will receive a grant up to $75,000 to perform a traffic and pedestrian study for the area of Farson Street, which will include the intersections of Route 618 and Route 7.
