A passenger on a motorcycle was killed Tuesday in an accident on Interstate 77 in Muskingum Township in Washington County, the Marietta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

Krista Boling, 39, Cambridge, was killed when a 2005 Harley-Davidson driven by Paul Boling, 39, also of Cambridge, went off the road at the Exit 6 off ramp, the patrol said. The motorcycle was traveling south and went off the left side of the road and overturned, the patrol said.

Both occupants were transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital, the patrol said.

Paul Boling sustained minor injuries while Krista Boling sustained fatal injuries, the patrol said. Neither were wearing a helmet, the patrol said.

The patrol was assisted by the Devola Volunteer Fire Company, Marietta Fire Department and Westfall Towing.

The crash remains under investigation, the patrol said. The accident happened around 1:35 p.m. Tuesday.
