WILLIAMSTOWN — The River Road Music Festival is returning for a third year at the Henderson Hall Plantation Sept. 26-27.

Doors open at 3 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday with back-to-back events every evening during the two-day festival.

This year’s headliners will feature musicians and bands like TORN, Grassinine, Moon King, Lex Bauman and more. Festival attendees can also enjoy the Timberwork’s Lumberjack Show which is scheduled between live music performances.

The Lumberjack Show includes events like axe throwing, log rolling, wood carving and more.

Tickets start at $37 for Friday only, $47 for Saturday only and $62 for a weekend pass. Ticket prices vary for those under the age of 21 and children under 12 are free.

Even though the festival is entering its third year on Old River Road, this will be the first time it’s scheduled for two days.

Primitive camping will be available from noon Friday through 9 a.m. Monday for $151 which includes two weekend ticket passes. Tickets can be purchased at riverroadmusicfest.com

Friday night will include a campground party led by artist Nick Nicholson. On Saturday, there will be live college football games available for guests to watch during the festival.

Rock and modern pop local artist Lex Bauman is scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday and will feature his guitar and vocal skills. Bauman’s musical journey began at a very young age. Over the past few years, he has been even more devoted to his music by learning to write and record and has performed at events and venues like the Harmar Days Festival, Harvest Moon Festival, the House of Blues Cleveland, and Spoonful Records in Columbus.

Local musician Moon King will be taking the stage at 5 p.m. Saturday and will offer the crowd a selection of his personal songs. On his Facebook page he describes himself as a “West Virginia Engineering President’s Scholar by day and a mountain bluesman and humanitarian by night.”

Headliner Grassinine is scheduled to perform at 6:30 p.m. Saturday with their classic tunes and some good-ol banjo playing. The band consists of seven individuals who, according to their website, say they formed a band by accident while on a pontoon on the Scioto River.

Special guest Phil Maneri will join Grassinine on stage to accompany the band with his skills on the bass.

Headliners TORN, a Creed salute band, will end the festival by bringing both entertainment and rock dynamics to the main stage starting at 7:45 p.m. Saturday.

The band consists of lead singer Nick Nicholson, Adam Hemphill on drums, Scott Nalley on bass, and Jason Hemphill on the guitar. Expect high-energy and an unforgettable visual experience.
