Sternwheel soundtrack: Local, regional, national acts provide music for weekend event

A variety of bands will perform during the three days of the 2025 Ohio River Sternwheel Festival at the Ohio River Levee in downtown Marietta.

Regional and national acts will be joined by local performers including Steve and Beverly Pottmeyer, Marietta High School’s Wall of Sound band and Vocal Point choir, the Stone Quillen Band, Gypsy River Band, 3M Acoustic Trio, Jake Binegar, Evie Schaffer, Harry and Cathy Beall Christian Music and Charlie Brewer.

Division Street will perform at 8 p.m. Friday, kicking off three days of entertainment. Division Street covers popular radio rock hits from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. Division Street also remixes pop hits from the last decades (NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Smash Mouth, Maroon 5), and adds a rock element.

The Friday night headliner will be Ian Harrison at 9:30 p.m. Harrison is a Columbus, native and Nashville resident. He grew up listening to country and folk, which inspired his unique sound and songwriting style.

At the age of 18, Harrison began spilling his thoughts on paper, expressing his emotions through songs. He attended college and worked as a bartender in Columbus, which was put on pause after being presented the opportunity to compete on “The Voice.”

Since then, Harrison has spent his time in Nashville writing songs and working every day to spread his message to the world.

Cryin’ Out Loud will perform Saturday at 5 p.m. This rock blues band stands on the shoulders of musical greats like Albert King, Eric Clapton, J. Geils, Tommy Castro, Walter Trout, Rare Earth, Joe Bonamassa, Steppenwolf and Muddy Waters. Lead guitarist and vocalist Eric Barkdull, drummer Mike Jessup, bassist Bob Stulka, saxophonist Eric Snyder, organist Robert Shipley and rhythm guitarist and vocalist Dave Wilkes bring classic rock and blues to life on the live stage.

Journey from the Heart will perform Saturday at 9 p.m., break for the annual fireworks show and resume performing at 10 p.m., providing music from the legendary bands Journey and Heart.

The tribute band features Ryan Christopher, former lead singer for Resurrection – A Journey Tribute and lead singer of Black Jacket Symphony’s 2024 “ESC4P3 from the Dark Side of the Moon” tour; along with Shareen Ann, lead singer of Barracuda – America’s Heart Tribute; and guitarist Ann Coleman.

Cold Shot will perform at 11 a.m. Sunday.

Reuniting after a 15-year hiatus, Cold Shot was a regular on the Mid-Ohio Valley music scene in the mid-2000s and have been performing at numerous local clubs, events and fraternal organizations since rejoining in May 2024.

The group features Bob Crock on bass guitar and vocals, Nate Cunningham on guitar, Eric Boyd on guitar and vocals and JP Chandler on drums and vocals.

Rick K. Road Trip will perform its rock ‘n’ roll review twice on Sunday, at noon and 2 p.m.

The final performance of the festival will be Clint Carsey and the Tracklayers at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Singer/songwriter Clint Carsey is joined by a very talented cast of players that form a solid core of blues, rock, southern rock, country and new country.
