Ludlow Township seeking applicants for fiscal officer vacancy
LUDLOW TWP. — The Ludlow Township Board of Trustees is accepting applications for the vacant fiscal officer position, following the passing of Jeanetta Berentz on Sept. 16.
To prevent any interruptions, the fiscal officer position has been temporarily filled by deputy clerk Elizabeth Groves until an appointment is made.
Berentz served in the job for more than 20 years.
The duties of a fiscal officer include a range of tasks from financial oversight to book keeping and public relations.
Applicants for the position must be a registered voter for at least 30 days prior to appointment and a resident of Ludlow Township.
The applicant would fill the remaining two years of the four year term.
Washington County Juvenile Court Judge Timothy Williams will be handling applicant evaluations. Applicants can submit their resume and letter of interest to 202 Putnam St., Suite 12, Marietta, OH 45750, by Oct. 31.
Since the position became available past the deadline in order for potential candidates to appear on the general election ballot Nov. 4, the trustees requested the help of Williams to evaluate the applicants. Williams will appoint a fiscal officer after the application deadline on Oct. 31.
