Mid-Ohio Valley student academic honors

The following academic honors were announced for students from the Mid-Ohio Valley:

¯ Washington State College of Ohio students Kyndal Buchanan of Lower Salem and Olivia Olsen of Marietta were selected to the third team of the 2025 All-Ohio Academic Team. College faculty, staff and other campus leaders nominated top-performing students for the honor, which recognizes excellence in academics, leadership and community service.

¯ Southern New Hampshire University announced the following Mid-Ohio Valley students were named to the Spring 2025 Dean’s List: Brianna McConnell of Marietta, Tarah Ridley of Woodsfield, Sarah Sanderson of Williamstown, Heather Ross of Parkersburg and Katie Kerns of Parkersburg. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 to 3.699 for the reporting term are named to the Dean’s List.

¯ Aubrey Marie Erwin of Williamstown graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science in biological science, pre-physician assistant, from Lee University in Tennessee during the 193rd commencement exercises on May 10.

¯ Payton Harvey of Parkersburg, Jackline Omolo of Spencer, Gabriele Beverlin of Williamstown and Alexis Frazee and Abbie Smith of Little Hocking were all named to the Concord University Dean’s List. The Dean’s List recognizes full-time undergraduate students who were registered for a minimum of 12 Concord credit hours and attained a gpa of 3.5 or above at the end of the semester.

¯ Azarian Bennett of Lower Salem, Derek McAfee of Fleming and Hallie Northrop of Marietta were named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2025 semester at Cedarville University. This recognition requires the student to obtain a 3.5 GPA or higher for the semester and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.

¯ Rebecca Ball of Little Hocking, Daniel Braisted of Whipple, Abigail Brown of McConnelsville,

Sara McElroy of Marietta and Margaret Morris of Marietta were named to the Dean’s Honor List for the Spring 2025 semester at Cedarville. This recognition requires the student to obtain a 3.75 gpa or higher for the semester and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.

¯ Bennett, Northrop and McElroy graduated from Cedarville in the spring.

¯ Owen Tidd of Coolville graduated from Radford University with a bachelor of fine arts in dance during its Spring 2025 Commencement ceremonies in May.

¯ Morgan Altenburger, a senior from Marietta, was named to the spring semester dean’s list at Heidelberg University. Students must be enrolled full time and meet academic criteria set forth by the university to be named to the list. Altenburger graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science in health science.

¯ Olivia Congleton of Belpre and Jamison Schmidt of New Matamoras were named to the Spring 2025 Dean’s List at Ohio Dominican University.

¯ Julia Silvus of Morgan County received three scholarships from the Ohio Farm Bureau this spring – the Darwin Bryan Scholarship, which assists students who have been active in the Farm Bureau’s youth program and/or whose parents are Farm Bureau members; the Jack Fisher Scholarship, whose namesake wanted to enable people to acquire the necessary tools for a more fulfilling life; and an Ohio Farm Bureau Scholars Award, recognizing students for academic effort, community service and career interests that use agriculture to enhance the partnership between producers and consumers in rural, suburban and/or urban settings.

¯ Chloe Campbell of Stockport was named to the University of Evansville Dean’s List for the Spring 2025 semester. To make the list, a student must have carried a full academic load of 12 hours or more and have earned a gpa of 3.5 or above.

¯ Marguerite Fulton of Washington County also received an Ohio Farm Bureau Scholars Award, as well as a scholarship from the Kenny Walter Scholarship Fund, which go to students pursuing post-secondary education in agriculture who come from the 29 northeastern counties Walter served as an Ohio Farm Bureau regional supervisor and organization director.

¯ Regan Wright of Marietta, Albreah Triplett of New Matamoras, Christopher Burdiss of Vincent, Cara Taylor of Waterford and Maya Farley of Whipple were named to the Spring 2025 President’s List at Muskingum University in New Concord. To be named to the President’s List, students must earn a term gpa of 3.9 or above on a minimum load of 12 completed semester hours of A-F graded coursework.

¯ Josecler Powell of Athens, Ashley Hicks of Belpre, Julianna Wolfe and Eden Woodford of Lowell, and Hope Miracle of Marietta were named to the Spring 2025 Academic Merit list at Muskingum University. Students on the list started the semester as a part-time student (minimum load of six completed hours) and earned a term gpa of 3.6 or above on A-F graded coursework.

¯ Josecler Powell of Athens, Ashley Hicks of Belpre, Sydenee Duskey and Emmeline Miller of Beverly, Kena Hunter of Glouster, Julianna Wolfe and Eden Woodford of Lowell, Hope Miracle of Marietta, Holly Martin and Alexis Sharb of Nelsonville, Grace Rinard of New Matamoras, Jessica Smith and Jocelynn Thorn of Parkersburg, Sandra Brannon of Reedsville, Madison Eaton of St. Marys, Averi Schwendeman of Vincent, and Gillian Teters of Waterford were named to the Spring 2025 Dean’s List at Muskingum University. To be named to the list, students must earn a term gpa of 3.0 or above on a minimum load of 12 completed semester hours of A-F graded coursework.

¯ Sophia Thibault from Marietta was named to Slippery Rock University’s dean’s list for the Spring 2025 semester. The dean’s list consists of undergraduate students who earned an adjusted semester gpa of 3.5 or higher, based on a schedule of at least 12 newly attempted and earned credits.
