Closures announced as temperatures set to plunge

PARKERSBURG – Multiple closures have been announced for Monday amid snow, ice and frigid temperatures.
The Mid-Ohio Valley Transit Authority announced Easy Rider buses will not run Monday and the offices will be closed.
The Wood County Courthouse will be closed as well, county officials said.
Schools throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley have cancelled classes Monday, including those in Wood, Jackson, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane and Wirt counties in West Virginia and Belpre and Marietta City Schools and Fort Frye and Wolf Creek Local in Ohio. Frontier Local Schools announced on Facebook that they will be closed Tuesday as well.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for rain, snow and sleet tonight with temperatures set to plunge Monday, with a high of 20 and a low of 1. An extreme cold watch will be in effect from 6 p.m. Monday to noon on Tuesday.
