Meetings
¯ Putnam Community Water Corporation will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. today, at the office of the water department (upstairs floor of the red brick building) at 920 River Road next to the Devola swimming pool. ¯ The District 18 Ohio Public Works Fiscal Year 2027 (Round 40) Small Government Committee will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the Buckeye Hills Regional Council, 1400 Pike St., Marietta. The purpose of this meeting is to select the Round 40 Small Government slate of projects that will be forwarded to the Ohio Public Works Commission to compete for funding with the other 18 districts. This program funds projects such as roads, bridges, culverts, water, wastewater, solid waste and storm water facilities from eligible local government entities in Athens, Belmont, Hocking, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Perry and Washington counties in southeast Ohio with a population of 5,000 or less. ¯ Palmer Township will hold meetings at 7 p.m. Feb. 2, March 2, April 6, May 4, June 1, July 6, Aug. 3, Sept. 10, Oct. 5, Nov. 2 and Dec. 7, at the Palmer Community Building, 7153 State Route 676, in Palmer Square.
¯ The Belpre Township trustees will meet at 6 p.m. the first Monday of the month at 335 Baker Road, Little Hocking, plus a second meeting at 8 a.m. on the 15th of each month. If the 15th is on a Saturday, the meeting will be held at 8 a.m. Friday the 14th. If the 15th is on Sunday, the meeting will move to 8 a.m. on Monday the 16th.
¯ The Muskingum Township trustees will meet at 7 p.m. the first Monday of the month (except Sept. 2) with odd months’ meetings held at the town hall and even months at the Oak Grove Fire Department. A schedule of meetings can be found at muskingumtwp.org.
¯ The Barlow Township trustees will meet at 8 a.m. the second Monday of the month at the Township Hall, 567 Warrior Drive, Vincent.
¯ The Watertown Township Board of Trustees will meet at 6:30 p.m. the second Monday of the month at the Watertown Volunteer Fire Department.
¯ The Warren Township Board of Trustees will meet at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Mondays of the month at the Warren Township administration office, 95 Coffman Road, Marietta, with the exception of Memorial Day. The 2024 Financial Report for Warren Township has been filed with the Auditor of State’s office. The report is on file at the Warren Township Administration Office for public inspection. ¯ Regular monthly meetings of the Washington County Democratic Executive Committee are held at 7 p.m. on the third Monday of each month at Democratic headquarters, 227 Putnam St., Marietta.
¯ The Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities will usually meet at 4:15 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month, at Ewing School. The tentative schedule is as follows: Feb. 3; March 3; April 7; May 5; June 2; no meeting of the board will be scheduled in July unless a special need arises; Aug. 4; Sept. 8, second Tuesday of the month; Oct. 6; Nov. 3; Dec. 1. Individuals wishing to address the board at the meetings should contact the superintendent’s office at 740-373-3781 by noon on the day preceding the board meeting. Preliminary agendas for each board meeting may be obtained by calling the office during the week of the scheduled meeting. Dates and locations of board meetings are subject to change; please call 740-373-3781 to confirm. Board records are open to public review as allowed by state and federal statutes governing public access and confidentiality. Individuals requesting to review board documents shall call 740-373-3781. ¯ The Village of Lowell Council will meet at 6 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at the Village Office Building, 308 Walnut St., Lowell.
¯ The Ludlow Township Board of Trustees will meet at 7:30 p.m. on the last day of each month at the town hall.
¯ TOPS 0399 Marietta will meet at 2:15 p.m. Tuesdays at the First Church of the Nazarene. Weigh-in is between 1:30 and 2:10 p.m. Visitors are welcome, and the first meeting is free. Call Cindy at 740-629-2957 for details.
¯ The Reno Area Water and Sewer District will hold its regularly scheduled meetings at 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Feb. 17, March 17, April 21, May 19, June 16, July 21, Aug. 18, Sept. 15, Oct. 20, and Nov. 17, at the Reno Water Office, 170 Mount Tom Road. The public is welcome to attend.
¯ The Marietta Township Board of Trustees will meet at 6:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month at the Reno Community Center, 260 Sandhill Road, in Reno. The 2024 Marietta Township Annual Financial Report has been filed with the Auditor of State’s office.
¯ Newport Township will meet at 6:30 p.m. the first Thursday of every month at the Newport Community Building. Meeting dates are Feb. 5, March 5, April 2, May 7, June 4, July 2, Aug. 6, Sept. 3, Oct. 1, Nov. 5 and Dec. 3.
¯ The Lawrence Township Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of the month at the Little Muskingum Volunteer Fire Department. The Lawrence Township Board of Trustees has filed its 2024 Annual Financial Report with the State of Ohio. ¯ The Waterford Township Board of Trustees will meet in regular session at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month for the calendar year 2026, at the township building.

¯ Beverly American Legion Post 389 will hold a public steak fry from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at the Post Home, 114 Fifth St., in Beverly. A meal is $15 and includes steak, a baked potato, salad bar and a roll. Entertainment will be provided by the Up To No Good Band following the steak fry.
¯ Beverly Eagles Ladies Auxiliary will hold an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, Feb. 1. For more information or for carry-out, call 740-984-4733.
¯ Matamoras #374, Free and Accepted Masons, 301 Main St., in New Matamoras, is holding a community breakfast buffet from 8-11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7. The breakfast includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, sausage gravy, hash browns, biscuits, pancakes, cinnamon roll, orange juice and coffee. The public is invited to attend. Carry out is available. The suggested donation is $7 per person. Profits from the breakfast support Grand Lodge of Ohio Charitable Foundation, the Ohio Masonic Communities and local charities. Matamoras #374 is designated an IRS 501(c)10 charitable organization.
¯ Beverly Eagles will hold a steak fry at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 14. Grilled chicken dinners will also be available. For more information or for carry-out, call 740-984-4733. Entertainment will be provided by the band Gypsy River.
¯ Norwood United Methodist Church, 23 Colegate Drive will have its monthly third Friday free community meal Friday, Feb. 20. Drive through the alley behind the church entering Vine Street. Meals are available beginning at 4:30 p.m. until gone.
¯ Fearing Township Volunteer Fire Department will hold its Annual March Dinner at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at 1975 Stanleyville Road, in Whipple. An adult meal is $12, and a child meal is $6. A meal includes a chicken or ham dinner, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and dessert.

– Every Second Monday: At 4:30 p.m. there will be an informal book discussion at Lock #4 Coffee Shop, 123 Third St., Beverly. A small drink will be provided by the Library.
– Every Wednesday:
¯ The Breakfast Club Story Time begins at 8:15 a.m. and is for children ages 2-6 who are accompanied by an adult. Story Time will include stories, crafts, games and music. The story time will include a small breakfast snack. The library will be closed at this time, so they ask those attending to use the back door.
¯ Starting at 10:30 a.m., Baby Bookworms will meet. Baby Bookworms is a story/play time for children 2 and under who are accompanied by an adult.
¯ Starting at 3:15 p.m. “Once Upon a Time We…,” an after-school fun time for ages 6-12, will begin meeting. Topics for this event will change each week, and activities may include crafts, games or books. No registration is required.
– Every First Thursday: Starting at 6 p.m., teens and adults are invited to learn about basic hand-sewing techniques. This is part of the Let’s Get Crafty program.
– Every Third Thursday:
• At 6 p.m., stop in and make Granny Squares using a Crochet Circle. The Granny Squares will be collected to make a blanket that will then be donated to a worthy cause. Hooks and yarn will be provided. If you don’t know how to crochet, they will teach you. This event is for teens and adults. Crochet Along at the Library (CAL) will meet at 6 p.m. every third Thursday. No registration is required.
– Every First Saturday: Anytime between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., the Builders Club will be meeting. They will set up a kit for everyone to work on together. They will also have some blocks for people to do an independent build. This event is for ages 5 and up and is an “at-your-own-pace” program.
