This spring has been busy and exciting for our chapter. Many members worked very hard in various Career Development Events from participating in Livestock and Equine judging to competing in Floriculture. We are proud of our members for their hard work and dedication they have shown this season and look forward to building on these experiences in the future.
At the State Public Speaking Competition, member Alyssa White advanced to finals where she placed 2nd overall in the state of Ohio for her beginning prepared speech over the demand for agricultural careers. Great job, Alyssa!
Our middle and high school judging teams competed at the Ohio State ATI and Circleville Invitational, as well as the Ohio FFA State Competition. At the state competitions, our high school livestock team placed in the top 50%. Our middle school livestock judging team placed 2nd in the state – a huge accomplishment! Our equine judging team also represented us well with member Zoey Miller placing in the top 50 of over 306 students and Laylah Bradford placing Top 10 in the middle school competition. We are proud of the hard work, dedication, and growth both teams showed throughout the season!
Our floriculture team competed at the state competition Monday, April 13th and placed 21st out of 69 teams. Kallie Boley placed 31st out of 252 participants! Throughout the season, team members strengthened their skills in plant and tool identification, placing classes, and floral design. We are proud of their hard work and excited to see their continued success in the future! Thank you to Amy’s Flower Shoppe for their help.
