Finance reports filed
First quarter campaign financial reports have been filed with the secretary of state by primary election candidates for the West Virginia Legislature from Wood County.
First quarter reports cover the period from Jan. 1 to March 31.
In the 3rd Senatorial District, incumbent Republican Sen. Mike Azinger reported contributions of $9,100 and expenditures of $3,640.
Azinger listed contributions of $1,400 each from Jeff and Sarah Fischbeck and Sean and Colleen Masterson, $1,000 from the Independent Insurance Agents of West Virginia and One Main Holdings Inc. of Indiana, $1,500 from the Chemours PAC and $2,800 from Michael R. Rydin.
Del. Bob Fehrenbacher, challenging Azinger in the primary, reported contributions of $27,500 for the period, he loaned the campaign $40,000 and expenditures of $20,797.
Contributors of $100 to $250 were Dave Yaussy, Stephen Spence, Dennis Workman, Matthew Davis, Arlene Borkowski, Ed Borkowski, Ritchie Heath, Steven Hardman and John Myer.
Fehrenbacher reported contributions of $500 each from Derrick Williamson, Roy Cooper, Larry Swann, the West Virginia Contractors PAC, John Thomas and Mary Thomas, $1,000 each from Gregory Smith, Mary Thomas, John Haid, Daniel Owen and Operators PEC, $2,500 from Jeff Fischbeck and Sean Masterson, $1,500 from the Chemours PAC and West Virginia Academy of Eye Physicians & Surgeons PAC and $2,800 from the West Virginia Business and Construction Trades PAC.
He reported contributions of $6,600 from a March 17 fundraiser of $50 from Raymona Kinneberg, $250 from Danielle Waltz, $1,000 each from Charles Hageboeck, Hartman Cosco LLC and the West Virginia realtors PAC, $500 from Stephen Roberts and $2,800 from Meghan Moses.
Caci Petrehn, the Democrat running unopposed in the 3rd District primary, reported contributions of $595 and expenditures of $595.
In the 10th Delegate District, Democrat Chris Jones, running unopposed, reported contributions and expenditures of $170.
Republican incumbent Bill Anderson in the 10th District reported contributions of $2,000 and expenditures of $276. He reported contributions of $500 each from Bryan Brown and NextERA PAC, $1,000 from First Energy PAC.
Justin Beanard, also running for the Republican nomination in the 10th District, reported contributions and expenditures of $525. challenger in the primary
Beanard reported contributions of $100 each from Cheryl Baker and Terry Hofmann and $325 from himself.
Democrat Daniel Miller in the 11th District reported contributions and expenditures of $120 each.
Republican Andy Borkowski in the 11th District reported contributions of $2,641 that included $900 from a fundraiser and expenditures of $4,479.
Borkowski listed contributions of $250 or less from 10 people totalling $1,241 and a contribution of $500 from Robert Cornelius. Borkowski reported contributions of $900 from a March 5 fundraiser from David Borkowski, Eric Borkowski, Erin Borkowski, Lindsay Borkowski, Pat Carder, Thomas Joyce, David McCrady, Jeffrey Mennillo, Janet Ray and John Swarr.
Borkowski also loaned his campaign $5,000.
Republican Jeff Sandy in the 11th District reported contributions of $10,423, a loan of $5,000 and expenditures of $13,517. Sandy reported contributions of $250 from Tracy L. Hendershot, $200 each from Jason Minnite and Michael Ruscitto, $100 each from Jason Poling, James H. McGinnis and Charles Seita, $1,000 from Paul Joe Astorg and Wayne Novak, $500 from George Cosenza, $2,173 from Michael Simmons, $2,800 from the Greater West Virginia Carpenters PEC and $2,000 from James Barton.
In the 12th District, Democrat Dennis V. Rempel reported contributions of $208 and expenditures of $929.
The Committee to Elect Vernon Criss reported contributions of $32,300 and expenditures of $1,615.
He reported contributions of $250 each from Tamara Fuller, Sean Smith and the West Virginia Republican Labor Caucus, $200 from Marjean Kennedy, $1,000 from the First Energy PAC, Community Bankers PAC, Glenn Crotty, David Goldenberg and Phillip Reale, $350 from Karen Bowling, $500 from Mpac, Mike Dannunzio, Sammy Dannunzio, Vincent F. Dannunzio, Vincent M. Dannunzio, Larry Oleksa, One Main Holdings PAC, Bill Spriggs, Tyler Nestor, Tate Summerfield and Clearway Energy PAC, $2,000 from Nic Williams and the Committee to Elect Rupie Phillips, $2,800 from Albert Wright, Building and Construction Trades, West Virginia Automobile Dealers and Operators PEC and $1,500 from WVBW PAC.
Charles Hartzog, running for the Republican nomination in the 12th District, reported contributions of $5,349 and expenditures of $535.
Hartzog reported contributions totalling $773 from about 30 people, $1,776 from Geoff Foster, and $2,800 from Denise Morrisey.
Marley Umensetter, Democrat, in the 13th District reported contributions of $1,284 and expenditures of $325. Umensetter reported 16 contributions of $120 and less totalling $784 and $500 from Doug Mitchell.
Melissa McCrady in the 13th District reported contributions totalling $6,751 of $250 each from CFI Engineering Co. and Jerry Hamilton, $50 each from Cheryl Baker, Larry Baker and Glenn Newman, $25 from Teresa F. Goodnow, $2,800 from West Virginians for Health Freedom, $1,000 from Jeff D. Smith, $500 from Elias Coop-Gonzales and $1,775 from Geoffrey Foster.
Republican incumbent Scot Heckert in the 13th District reported $16,150 in contributions and expenses of $21,483. He has a balance of $39,033.
Heckert reported contributions of $250 or less from eight people, $1,000 from the CVS Health PAC, Hartman Cosco LLC, Ronald S. Wilheim, William P. Cole, $2,000 from the Giatras Law Firm, West Virginia Republican Labor Caucus, WVBW, $500 from First Energy PAC, Cigna Group Employee PAC, $2,500 from Wayne E. Willis, $1,800 from David Poske Rentals, $450 from West Virginians for Coal, Incumbent Dave Foggin, Republican in the 14th District, reported no contributions or expenditures in the reporting period.
Republican Angie Adams in the 14th District reported contributions of $1,400 of $900 from herself, $200 from Patty Richard and $100 each from Mike and Janet Krause, Travis McDonald and Yvonne Smith. She reported expenditures of $2,300.
Democrat Jonathan White in the 14th District reported no contributions or expenditures. Democrat Jim Marion in the 14th District also reported no contributions or expenditures.
A report was not filed in the system from Andy Daniel, Republican, in District 14.
Democrat Crystal Butcher in the 14th District reported contributions of $260 and a balance of $848. Butcher reported expenditures of $780.
