Marietta Community Foundation opens nominations for 25 Under 25 program

The Marietta Community Foundation has opened nominations for its 25 Under 25 program, an initiative intended to recognize young leaders making an impact across Washington County.

The program, launched in 2024 as part of the foundation’s 50th anniversary, honors 25 individuals under the age of 25 who demonstrate leadership, service and innovation in their communities. Organizers say the initiative aims to highlight the contributions of young people shaping the future of the region.

Eligible nominees must be 25 or younger as of Jan. 1, 2026, live in Washington County or have a significant connection to the area and not have previously received the recognition.

Community members, educators, employers and peers are encouraged to submit nominations for individuals making a difference through volunteerism, leadership, service or creative efforts.

“Being named to the 25 Under 25 list was an incredible honor and a reminder that the work young people are doing in our community truly matters,” said Kirsten Kroft, a 2024 honoree. “It showed me that impact isn’t always about big moments — it’s about consistently showing up for your community.”

Kroft said the recognition influenced her outlook even after leaving for college, noting she continues to give back because of the importance of small, consistent contributions.

Nominations are open through May 31, with honorees expected to be announced in July. More information and nomination forms are available at the foundation’s website.
