Washington County Career Center names April Students of the Month

The Washington County Career Center honors its April students of the month, Elora Mash and Ayden Jackson.
Mash is a Warren senior enrolled in the Graphic Design & Video Production program. She is the daughter of Brandon and Olivia Mash of Cutler.
At the Career Center, Mash is a member of the Business Professionals of America (BPA) youth organization (treasurer), student council (treasurer), National Technical Honor Society (vice president), Students Solving Problems (treasurer), and the class treasurer of her technical program. She has been on the Career Center’s principal list and honor roll for the past two school years. As a student ambassador, she is responsible for acting as a liaison between the Career Center and Marietta High School. In addition, she is gaining leadership skills by promoting the Career Center during its recruitment process as well as giving tours and guidance at scheduled events and with incoming visitors. At Warren High School, she is a member of the Marching Warriors Big Blue Band at Warren High School for color guard and is also a member of the winter guard. Mash is a youth group member for Lubeck Community Baptist Church.
Through College Credit Plus, Mash has earned or will earn credits in English composition, college algebra, technical writing, psychology, physics, and pre-calculus. Through her technical program, she has or will earn college credit or industrial certifications for the Adobe Creative Cloud software in 2D Animation, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Audio Production, Digital Photography, Digital Storytelling, Fundamentals of Content Creation, Graphic Design, Live Streaming and Production, Video Capture, and Video Production & Editing. She is receiving technical focus and learning skills for creating & editing digital graphics, design techniques, information technology, multimedia & image management techniques, and video & sound.
“Elora is a great student with an excellent work ethic,” said Graphic Design & Video Production instructor Chris Palmer. “It’s a pleasure having her in my program. I’m sure she will be successful at whatever she sets her mind to.”
Mash is working as an intern for Copper Leaf Interiors. She plans to attend Kent State University to obtain a bachelor’s degree for interior design and architecture with a minor in American sign language.
Ayden Jackson is a Frontier senior enrolled in the Auto Mechanics program, and he is the son of Andrew and Courtney Jackson of Newport and Brandie Evans of Visalia, California.
Jackson is a member of the Career Center’s SkillsUSA youth organization and is class president of his technical program. He has been on both the Career Center principal list and honor roll the past two school years. At Frontier High School, he is active in wrestling and played football his sophomore year.
Through College Credit Plus, Jackson has earned credits in American national government and ethics. He has earned industry-recognized credentials for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). He is taking course offerings and learning skills for automotive braking, suspension & steering systems (undercarriage systems), automotive engine performance, ground transportation electrical/electronics, and ground transportation maintenance.
“Ayden is a star student,” said Auto Mechanics instructor Quinton Toncray. “He is a reliable and dedicated student who is always willing to help his fellow students.”
Jackson is currently employed at Victory Dodge Jeep Toyota as a lube technician through the Career Center’s early placement program. He plans to attend Ohio University for business and their ROTC program. From there, he will enter the United States Air Force to hopefully become a pilot.
