Lower Muskingum Historical Society meeting

Shop, Swap and Stroll

The next Shop, Swap and Stroll event will be held Wednesday on Buell Island in Lowell. The event is a shopping, dining and social opportunity for the people in the surrounding area. It is held on the first Wednesday of each month, during the months of May and June. There is no cost to participate as a vendor, although the Village of Lowell requires a small fee to set up as a food truck/vendor. Donations are welcome and appreciated. Collected donations go to upkeep and maintenance of Lowell’s Buell Park. For more information, private message the committee on Facebook messenger and a committee member will get back to you.

Naughty Lobster food truck

The Naughty Lobster food truck will be at the Beverly Eagles from 4-8 p.m. Thursday. Open Mic night will start at 7 p.m.

OneOhio Region 12 committee meeting

The OneOhio Region 12 committee meeting will be at 10 a.m. Friday, held virtually via Teams. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the OneOhio Recovery Foundation Round 2 Grant Applications. OneOhio’s Regional Board meetings are open to the public; however, upcoming agendas may include grantee discussions, which will take place in closed executive session. Loaded baked potato dinner

VFW Post 5108 will hold a loaded baked potato dinner from 5-7 p.m. Friday at 319 Pike St., Marietta. A meal is $8 per person and includes a baked potato with a choice of nine different toppings. A bowl of chili will be $2. For more information or for carry-out, call 740-374-9038.

Help Me Grow Community Baby Shower

The Help Me Grow Community Baby Shower will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Marietta Knights of Columbus Hall, 312 Franklin St., Marietta. This free community event is designed for expectant mothers and families with infants and toddlers, offering information on local resources and services to support families throughout their parenting journey. Attendees can enjoy developmental screenings, car seat safety checks, door prizes, complimentary “mommy massages,” snacks and a variety of giveaways from participating vendors. Washington County Historical Society open house

The Washington County Historical Society will have an open house from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at 346 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, on the second floor.

Steak fry

Beverly Eagles will hold a steak fry at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. A meal is $15. Grilled chicken dinners will also be available. For carry out, call 740-984-4733. Entertainment will be provided by the band AMIX.

Mother’s Day Dinner

Fearing Township Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual Mother’s Day Dinner at 11 a.m. Sunday at 1975 Stanleyville Road, Whipple. Admission is $12 and $6 for children. Dinner includes baked steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and dessert.

“Family Research and Trees” workshop

The Washington County Historical Society Archives will hold a “Family Research and Trees” free beginners hands-on computer workshop on May 16, at 346 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, in the old Children’s Home, in the north wing, on the second floor. Space is limited, call 740-525-4841.

Marietta Township School Reunion

The Marietta Township School Reunion will be held at noon May 16, at the Marietta Township Community Building in Reno. The reunion includes former students and teachers of Reno, Sand Hill, Goose Run, Jennings Hill, Cornerville, Barker, Yankeeburg and Eight Mile Schools. Chicken, ham, coffee, tea and table service will be provided. Bring a covered dish to share as well as memorabilia of your school and community. The Graysville and Community Volunteer Fire Department will hold a baked steak dinner at 4:30 p.m. May 16, at 38851 State Route 26, Graysville. Meals are $15 and include baked steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, coleslaw, rolls and dessert.

District 18 Ohio Public Works Commission committee meeting

The District 18 Ohio Public Works Commission Fiscal Year 2027 (Round 40) Executive Committee will meet at 10 a.m. May 20, at Buckeye Hills Regional Council, 2585 Glendale Road, Marietta. The purpose of this meeting is to review the Fiscal Year 2028 (Round 41) Evaluation Criteria prior to submission to the OPWC Integrating Committee for their approval and to appoint/re-appoint members to the Natural Resources Assistance Council (NRAC).

The District 18 Ohio Public Works Commission Fiscal Year 2028 (Round 41) Integrating Committee will meet at 10:30 a.m. May 20, at Buckeye Hills Regional Council, 2585 Glendale Road, Marietta. The purpose of this meeting is to appoint members to the Fiscal Year 2028 (Round 41) Executive and Small Government Committees, elect officers, and approve the timetable and methodology. The District 18 Integrating Committee is a 28-member body of elected officials with an 11-member Executive Committee responsible for making decisions in prioritizing infrastructure projects submitted for funding under the State Capital Improvement and Local Transportation Improvement Programs. The 120th Waterford High School Alumni Banquet will be held May 23, at Waterford High School. Friends of Lawrence School annual school reunion

The Friends of Lawrence School have planned the annual school reunion for June 6, at Frontier High/Middle School. Social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be at 6 p.m. Each reservation is $25 and includes a meal of baked steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, roll, desserts by Dawns Desserts and a drink.
