EVE Inc. pauses operations for at least 30 days during restructuring effort in Marietta
MARIETTA — EVE Inc. is pausing most operations for at least 30 days as the agency works to restructure operations, strengthen financial systems and revise governance documents.
The operational reset will allow Executive Director Trina Rataiczak and a newly formed board of directors to focus on long-term sustainability and future growth, according to a release from the agency.
During the pause, all hotline and crisis calls will be diverted to Transitions, a domestic violence shelter in Zanesville. Survivors who need services should call 740-630-4354 beginning today.
The agency’s staff has been reduced to the executive director, though the Visitation Center will continue to operate. Questions about operations should be directed to Carla Archer at 740-350-7070, according to the release.
Washington County Sheriff Mark Warden said his office will help direct victims to other available resources during the pause.
“What we’ll do is we will navigate any of our victims to other resources, through maybe a victim advocate to the prosecutor’s office, things of that nature,” Warden said.
A consultant provided by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network will also provide guidance and operational support during the transition.
“Domestic violence and sexual assault services are critically important in our community, and this reset is intended to ensure that EVE can continue its mission in a stronger and more sustainable way,” said Board Chair Linda Sistrunk, who noted that EVE opened in 1980. “We remain deeply committed to survivors and rebuilding an organization our community can rely on.”
The newly formed board of directors includes Sistrunk, director of behavioral health services at Memorial Health System; Jolie Kerenick, chief operations officer at Westbrook Health Services Inc.; Chelsea Paitsel, owner of The Hair Hippie; and Vanessa Goins, an outreach specialist and peer recovery support specialist at Peer Solutions Behavioral Health.
The board held its first meeting Tuesday.
