Free Comic Book Day at local shops on Saturday
Saturday is Free Comic Book Day, marking the 25th year of the event where comic stores give away free comics to everyone who walks inside.
This year’s selection features a diverse lineup of titles for all ages, from superheroes like Spider-Man, the X-Men, Superman and Batman to pop culture favorites like Minecraft and Transformers and kid-friendly titles including Garfield, My Little Pony, Stitch, Sonic the Hedgehog and more.
Asylum Comics at 212 Third St. in Marietta will once again be participating, as well as hosting a charity food drive for the Tri-County Food Pantry. People can pick up three free comics each, along with one extra for every non-perishable food item or $1 donation to the food pantry.
At Lost Legion Games & Comics, 517 21st St., Vienna, each guest can pick up three free comics from this year’s selection as well as unlimited comics from previous Free Comic Book Day events.
