The Historic Tour of Homes presented by The Castle will take place again this year May 23 and 24.

The tour of 11 homes in Marietta, the first established settlement of the Northwest Territory, begins with six homes, including The Castle Museum, on Saturday with five different structures featured on Sunday’s tour.

On both days, tours will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. “Single day” reservations can be purchased on The Castle’s website or at The Castle’s Carriage House for $30 and will include all houses featured on the day of the buyer’s choice. With the purchase of a “weekend pass” for $50, a person will be able to visit all of the homes featured on each day. With their reservation, a participant may visit as many or as few of the stops as they wish. Many of the homes featured are within walking distance of each other, although participants may drive to locations, if they prefer.

Tickets cannot be purchased at any of the homes on the tour. The Castle advises purchasing tickets in advance.

The Castle, built in 1855, offers an array of tours, educational opportunities and programs. Tours are available starting in April and many other history-related events are available throughout the year. Offerings include: local historical mock trials, food history, archaeology, summer camps, school and scout education, cemetery tours, teas and luncheons, wedding and facility rental and more.
