Waterford High School teacher faces two assault charges involving student
WATERFORD – Waterford High School physical education teacher Matthew Ryan Warden was charged with two counts of assault to a student and arrested May 7 just after 5 p.m., according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office jail roster and Marietta Municipal Court documents.
According to official documents, the assault took place May 5 at Waterford High School with two charges of harm knowingly made to the victim. The charges are first-degree misdemeanors.
Warden, 55, was released on a personal recognizance bond on May 8, according to court documents and the Washington County Jail website.
An arraignment hearing was held Monday.
The case remains under investigation. Law enforcement and school personnel did not respond to requests for comments by print deadline Tuesday.
