Local business owner completes Goldman Sachs program

PARKERSBURG — The owner of Wine Down on Market has successfully completed the prestigious Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program, a nationally recognized initiative designed to help entrepreneurs grow their businesses through practical education, strategic planning and professional networking.

Pamela Creel recently completed the program which provides small business owners with access to business education, growth-focused strategies, and a network of fellow entrepreneurs. The curriculum emphasizes real-world applications in areas such as financial management, marketing, negotiation, and long-term business planning.

The experience was both professionally and personally transformative for Creel.

“This program challenged me to think more strategically about the future of Wine Down on Market,” she said. “The tools, frameworks, and insights I gained have strengthened our foundation for growth.

“Just as valuable were the relationships I built with fellow business owners whose experiences and perspectives enriched the entire journey.”

Throughout the program, Creel collaborated with entrepreneurs from a variety of industries, sharing ideas and learning from their collective successes and challenges. She credits those connections with reinforcing the importance of community and collaboration in business growth.

“When small businesses succeed, communities succeed,” she said. “Businesses create jobs, strengthen neighborhoods, and contribute to thriving local economies.

“Programs like this help make that possible.”

Located in downtown Parkersburg, Wine Down on Market has become a destination for wine enthusiasts and community gatherings. Creel plans to apply the knowledge gained through the program to continue expanding opportunities for customers while supporting economic growth in the Mid-Ohio Valley.

Creel also encourages other entrepreneurs to consider applying for future cohorts of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program.

“It is truly an investment in yourself, your business, and your community,” she said. “I would strongly encourage any small business owner looking to grow and strengthen their business to explore the opportunity.”

The completion of the program marks an important milestone for both Creel and Wine Down on Market as the business continues to build on its success and serve as a vibrant part of the Parkersburg community.

Starting at $3.70/week.
