Marietta Main Street hosts June First Friday

Marietta Main Street’s monthly First Friday returns from 5-9 p.m. this week.

The theme for June is Parrot Head Party, and guests are encouraged to wear Hawaiian-themed clothing and accessories.

Guests can expect late night shopping, dining and drink specials, live music from local artists, pop-up artists and more, according to a release from the Main Street organization.

On the Armory Lawn there will be a kid zone featuring Artsbridge, the Boys & Girls Club, Oak Grove Christian School and Veritas Academy. Also in attendance on the Armory Lawn will be personnel with the Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities, the Washington County Historical Society, America 250, the MOV’n Dragons, Briar and Bloom, the Marietta Rowing & Cycling Club, Thermo Fisher Scientific and Waterview Pointe.

Peoples Bank Theatre will host a free outdoor concert, featuring Bad Decisions, on Second Street.

Some shops that will be open past 5 p.m. include Clutch Collective, Dead People’s Stuff, Schafer Leather Store, Threadz Boutique and Wit & Whimzy.

Mad Batter Cookie Company will be selling an assortment of cookies at Wit & Whimzy.

The Derailed Distillery will be open to celebrate the grand opening of the retail shop.

Local artisan Esther Salem will be at Teri Ann’s with hand-crafted wood creations available for purchase.

There are sales and gift certificate opportunities available at various downtown shops.

Over the Moon Pub & Pizza will have live music from Andrew Littlefield from 6:30-9:30 p.m. The Greg Hale Band will be performing at Wilky’s Sports Bar.

Jeremiah’s Coffee House will celebrate their 11th anniversary.

First Friday occurs every first Friday from February through December.
