MARIETTA – Memorial Health System will hold a community open house later this month to celebrate the opening of MemorialRx, a new pharmacy location intended to expand access to medications and pharmacy support in Marietta.
The open house is scheduled for 4:30-6 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at MemorialRx, 224 Pike St. Community members will be able to tour the new pharmacy, meet staff and learn about services available through the location. The event also will include refreshments, giveaways and free blood pressure and blood sugar screenings.
According to a release from Memorial Health System, the opening of MemorialRx is one of the ways the health system is working to make care more accessible through expanded services and convenient medication support.
The pharmacy offers prescription services, including free home delivery for patients who are unable to get to the pharmacy, have transportation challenges or prefer to receive medications at home. The delivery service can be used for a one-time need or as part of a monthly medication routine.
MemorialRx also offers Med Sync, a program designed to simplify prescription refills. Through the program, patients can have their medications lined up on the same refill schedule, reducing the number of separate pharmacy trips or deliveries needed each month. Patients using Med Sync can pair the service with home delivery.
The pharmacy also uses the RxLocal app, which allows patients to manage prescriptions from a phone. Through the app, patients can request refills, view their medications, send secure messages to pharmacy staff, set reminders and track Med Sync updates if they are enrolled in the program.
Memorial Health System said the open house will give residents an early look at the new pharmacy and the services it will provide to patients in the area.
