The Padgetts to perform Sunday
Lower Salem Methodist Church will host The Padgetts, a Southern Gospel Group, at 11 a.m. Sunday. A covered dish dinner will follow the service. All are welcome.
Coin Club to host summer show July 25
The Parkersburg Coin Club is sponsoring its 4th annual summer coin show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 25, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 312 Franklin St., Marietta, during Harmar Days. Admission is free. Dealers will be available to buy, sell or trade collectible coins. An hourly door prize will be awarded for those in attendance. Ice cream social Saturday in Lowell
The Lowell-Adams Fire Department Ice Cream Social will be 4 p.m. Saturday on Buell Island in Lowell. There will be food, raffles, hayrides, a car/truck show, a tractor show, a bike show, a People’s Choice award show, a country store and a live auction. To donate to the country store, call 740-984-2412, or drop off your items at the fire department at 7 p.m. on Thursdays, or drop them off at the island the day of.
Graysville VFD carnival Saturday
The Graysville Community Volunteer Fire Department, 38851 State Route 26, Graysville, will hold its annual carnival Saturday. A variety supper will start at 4 p.m. Mike Calovini will provide music from 4-6:30 p.m. and 7:30-8:30 p.m. The annual parade will be at 7 p.m. A raffle and country store with a drawing will be held at 8 p.m. There will also be games for the youngsters.
Constitution study group
A study group from Living Democracy: Engaging Citizens is discussing the Constitution at 5:15 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays every month at the Marietta Armory on the first floor. Everyone is welcome to join.
Free legal advice clinic
Washington County Bar Association and volunteer attorneys are offering a free advice clinic from 6-8 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month. The clinic will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 501 Fourth St., Marietta (enter through the back door off the alley behind the church from Wooster Street). Walk-ins are welcome.
Dementia support group
A dementia support group is held at the O'Neill Center on the first Friday of each month at 10 a.m. This group is intended to assist families affected by Alzheimer's disease and related dementias by helping them build a strong support system, openly discuss their challenges and find practical solutions. Guidance on coping strategies is also provided in addition to community resource connections. This support group is offered in partnership with Right at Home and Cawley Hospice.
