BELPRE - Belpre and Marietta City Schools will continue to offer free breakfasts and lunches to all students in the 2026-27 school year.
According to releases from both districts, they will continue to participate in the Community Eligibility Provision and provide breakfast and lunch to all children at no charge and eliminate the collection of meal applications for free, reduced-price and paid student meals.
According to the releases, this approach "reduces burdens for both families and school administrators and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meals."
The districts also note that families with children eligible for school meals may also be eligible for free health care coverage through Medicaid and/or Ohio's Healthy Start and Healthy Families programs. These programs include coverage for doctor visits, immunizations, physicals, prescriptions, dental, vision, mental health, substance abuse and more.
Applications can be requested by calling 1-800-324-8680, and more information can be sought by calling that number or visiting http://jfs.ohio.gov/ohp/consumers/familychild.stm. Anyone who has an Ohio Medicaid card is already receiving these services.
