MARIETTA -- Marietta College has been named to Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society's 2026 Transfer Honor Roll, according to a release from the college.
Marietta was among 275 four-year colleges and universities included on the national list. The honor roll evaluates institutions based on their policies, services and outcomes involving students who transfer from community colleges to pursue bachelor's degrees.
Factors considered in the evaluation include transferability, use of previously earned credits, financial assistance, recruitment and admissions practices, student services, campus engagement, and graduation outcomes.
The recognition came from data provided through the National Student Clearinghouse and information included in Marietta's institutional Transfer Profile on PTK Connect. The online platform provides community college students with information for transfer institutions.
Marietta College's profile includes its admissions procedures, available transfer scholarships, attendance costs, campus activities and recruitment opportunities.
According to the release, 1,117 colleges and universities completed an institutional profile and received a Transfer Friendliness Rating in 2026. The institutions receiving the highest ratings were placed on the Transfer Honor Roll.
Heidi Terry, Marietta College's vice president for enrollment management, said the college provides transfer students with information about how credits earned at other institutions could apply toward a Marietta degree.
Prospective students may meet with an admissions counselor before applying to discuss their academic records and potential transfer credits. They may also request an unofficial transfer evaluation, which the college said is generally completed within three to five business days.
Marietta College accepts transfer applications throughout the year. The college encourages students seeking academic scholarships to file their applications early.
The college also participates in the WSCO2MC transfer program with Washington State College of Ohio. Through the program, students may begin their college education at Washington State and later transfer to Marietta to complete a four-year degree.
Phi Theta Kappa is an honor society serving students at associate degree-granting colleges. Its Transfer Honor Roll is intended to provide information to community college students comparing four-year institutions and their transfer policies.
