Spirit of Giving grant application window open for local nonprofits

PARKERSBURG – Area non-profits will be able to apply for the PM Company’s 2026 Spirit of Giving grants starting today.

The application period will be open July 1 through Aug. 30 for organizations serving vulnerable and underserved populations in Wood County and Washington County, according to a press release from the PM Company.

In 2025, Spirit of Giving awarded $81,000 to 13 local nonprofit organizations, helping advance missions that provide vital services, education, and outreach. Since its founding, the fund has awarded more than 300 grants totaling $1,003,500 to nonprofits throughout the region.

“Success is not just measured by corporate milestones, but by the tangible good we can do for our neighbors,” said Karmyn Minnite Conley, managing partner at The PM Company. “When my father, Pat Sr., established the Spirit of Giving campaign, our goal was simple: to continue our family’s tradition of philanthropy through The PM Company.

“Seeing the direct impact of Spirit of Giving grants on local families reinforces our family’s deeply rooted commitment to service and inspires us to keep building a stronger, more compassionate future together. It is a privilege to give back to the community that has given so much to us for generations.”

Established on Oct. 21, 2011, by Pat Minnite Sr., the Spirit of Giving Fund at the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation was created to promote community well-being through charitable giving, according to the press release.

Every dollar donated to the fund by more than 500 unique donors, including tenants, vendors, and business associates, is matched by The PM Company, helping ensure the fund can continue supporting organizations dedicated to improving lives across the region, the press release said.

“The Spirit of Giving truly lives up to its name, demonstrating the power of consistent generosity and partnership over time to strengthen communities and positively impact thousands of lives across the Mid-Ohio Valley,” said Maribeth Saleem-Tanner, senior program officer at the PACF. “It is a privilege to administer this process for The PM Company.”

Eligible nonprofits are invited to apply by visiting the foundation’s website at www.pacfwv.com/grants/apply to complete the online application.

Starting at $3.70/week.
