MARIETTA – The National Weather Service has severe thunderstorm and flood watches in effect for the Marietta area this evening, and a flash flood warning until 4:15 p.m. for the south central portion of Washington County.
The forecast calls for a possible thunderstorm before 5 p.m., with showers and thunderstorms likely after that. The chance of precipitation is 90%.
A flash flood warning is in effect for south central Washington County, as well as northeastern Wood County and southwestern Pleasants County in West Virginia until 4:15 p.m.
The severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Washington, Athens, Monroe, Morgan and Noble counties – plus Wood, Wirt, Doddridge, Jackson, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Tyler and Wetzel counties in West Virginia – until 8 p.m.
The flood watch is in effect for Washington, Morgan and Athens counties and most of the aforementioned West Virginia counties until 2 a.m. Wednesday.
