Fair royalty announced

The 2026 Washington County Junior Fair royalty was announced on Tuesday.
The competition was held Monday by the Ohio State University Extension Service at the First Presbyterian Church in Marietta where 12 candidates participated in an individual interview with three panel judges and a public speaking event.
Six were chosen for the Junior Fair royalty court to serve at the Washington County, Waterford Community and Barlow Independent fairs.
The 2026 Fair Royalty are:
Queen Madison Starkey, Marietta FFA. She is the daughter of Matt and Kristi Starkey of Cutler and a senior at Marietta High School.
Princess Rylee Young, Washington County 4-H Carteens Club. The daughter of Jeffrey and Jamey Young of Marietta, she is a junior at Marietta High School.
Junior Princess Aubrey Fordyce of Stockport, a member of the Palmer Lads and Lassies 4-H Club. She is the daughter of Katlin Stewart and Matthew Fordyce and attends Waterford High School.
Prince Brandon Schilling, Oak Grove Explorers 4-H Club, the son of Bernie and Sara Schilling of Marietta. Schilling will be a seventh grader at Marietta High School.
Dairy Princess Bailey Yoho, Frontier Country 4-H Club and Frontier FFA. The granddaughter of Robin Barth and Gerald Barth of Marietta, Yoho will be a sophomore at Frontier High School.
Horse Princess Lytayshia Thompson of Marietta, a member of the Trailblazers 4-H Club. She is the daughter of Althea Thompson and will be a sophomore at Marietta High School.
