Fort Frye FFA members stay active throughout the summer

BEVERLY – While school may be out for the summer, the members of the Fort Frye FFA Chapter have remained hard at work preparing for another successful year. Throughout the summer, members have continued developing their leadership skills, participating in chapter activities, and working on their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects in preparation for the fairs.
Three of our chapter officers, Mollie Lang, Alyssa White, and Graden Miller, had the opportunity to attend the Washington Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. During the conference, members participated in leadership workshops focused on strengthening communication, teamwork, and becoming a servant leader. In addition to the leadership sessions, they visited many of our nation’s most historic landmarks, including Arlington National Cemetery, the Smithsonian museums, the National Mall, and several memorials. WLC inspired them to bring new ideas back to our chapter with their learning to serve plans.
Following WLC, the Fort Frye FFA Officer Team gathered for its annual Officer Retreat. During the retreat, officers spent time planning chapter activities, setting goals, organizing the Program of Activities, and preparing for the upcoming school year. The retreat provided an opportunity for the team to strengthen relationships, build leadership skills, and ensure that they are ready to serve the members of the Fort Frye FFA Chapter throughout the next school year.
As summer comes to a close, many Fort Frye FFA members are busy preparing livestock projects and completing record books. Members have spent countless hours caring for their animals and developing projects that showcase the hard work, responsibility, and dedication they have demonstrated throughout the summer. We wish the best of luck to all showmen in the upcoming fairs!
