BEVERLY – The third annual Sweet Corn Festival will take place from 4-9 p.m. Saturday at Dodge Park in Beverly.

The festival is hosted by Beverly-Waterford Growth & Revitalization Organization.

Attendees can enjoy an evening of live music, games for the whole family and food including grilled sweet corn provided by Witten Farm Market, hamburgers, hot dogs and homemade apple dumplings. This year, local restaurant El Costeno will make Mexican street corn as well.

“We’ll be roasting corn from 1 p.m. to about 8:30 p.m. for the event,” said Sam Skinner, one of the organizers of the festival, “and we’ll use about 20 sacks of corn which hold about 60 ears each.”

There will be sack races, bingo, a country store auction, a sweet corn eating contest between the Waterford and Fort Frye football teams, and a watermelon eating contest between the Waterford and Fort Frye cheerleaders. There will be two 50/50 raffles with one drawing at 6 p.m. and another at 8.

The Beverly Branch Library will be hosting kids’ yard games throughout the event with a bubble station, a corn pit, balloon toss and sack races for kids to enjoy.

The live music lineup this year will include Steve and Bev Pottmyer at 5 p.m. and The Clark Family & Friends performing at 7.

The Sweetcorn Festival is sponsored by Witten Farm Market, Sponey's IGA, Doughboyz Pizza, Citizens Bank, The Ohio Valley Opry and Muskingum Valley Beverly Waterford Chamber of Commerce.
