WVJC Online offering scholarships

2 min read

West Virginia Junior College Online is offering scholarships to those who qualify, including a Career Fast-Track Scholarship, to recently laid-off employees in the Mid-Ohio Valley who want to train for a new career, gain valuable skills, and transition into healthcare or professional services careers.

“At WVJC, we believe that challenging moments like this can also be turning points. That's why we're offering the Career Fast-Track Scholarship, to help those impacted take a bold step forward, retrain for in-demand fields, and re-enter the workforce with purpose and confidence. We're here to support our community every step of the way,” Chad Callen, WVJC CEO, said.

The Career Fast-Track Scholarship is available to students who have recently lost their jobs due to business closures or reductions in force. Students can apply for WVJC Online's respiratory therapy, radiologic technology, dental assisting, clinical medical assistant, medical coding, pharmacy technician, medical office administration, cybersecurity, business, or information technology programs to offset tuition costs.

Individuals interested in enrolling in an online/hybrid nursing program have nursing-program-specific scholarship opportunities through the WVJC Charleston campus.

Eligible students must apply to the institution within 180 days of their final workday at the facility where the dislocation occurred. WVJC offers additional institutional scholarships for qualifying students.
