Deputies respond to altercation at Shaver Annex Monday morning
Wood County Sheriff's Department was dispatched to the Shaver Judicial Annex Monday morning in response to a incident in a courtroom. Wood County Sheriff Rick Woodyard was on the scene. Woodyard said the hearing involved a juvenile defendant who was not complying with instructions and started a physical altercation with the court officers. They radioed for help which Woodyard said it is considered "a very serious issue" and all available units that are available are expected to respond. At the moment, they weren't sure what was happening. The subject was detained and escorted out of the building by a number of court officers, put in a vehicle and taken away. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene from the Camden Clark Medical Center, but it is not known if anyone was injured. Woodyard said there were no injuries among the court personnel. The subject returned for another hearing later in the day and got into another altercation with the court officers again.
