The Friends of the Ohio River Islands will hold events Saturday and Sunday at Middle Island in St. Marys as part of its Find Your Wild programs in September.
The group from 9-noon Saturday will host another self-guided scavenger hunt for kids and families to explore nature on the trails on Middle Island. Participants will get prizes, snacks and a chance to win a special prize, Mark Krivchenia, president of the Friends of the Ohio River Islands, said.
The fourth annual 5K run and walk will start at 1 p.m. at the St. Marys Marina. Participants can run or walk and pets are welcome.
The course goes through St. Marys and onto Middle Island for a run along the Ohio River over the river trails. Registration and more information is available at https://friendsoftheohioriverislands.org/findyourwild/.
