Marietta High School will celebrate homecoming this week with various activities.
Dress-up days include Decade Day, Twin Day, Frat Boy Day, Class Color Day and School Spirit (Orange and Black) Day. Classes will compete in rock painting, spirit games and float building.
The class float themes are as follows:
* Freshmen – "Tear the Swarm"
* Sophomores – "Exterminate the Hive"
* Juniors – "Smack the Jackets"
* Seniors – "Zap the Jackets"
The homecoming parade will step off from Marietta Elementary School at 5:45 p.m. Friday. It will continue up Putnam Street to Fourth Street and down Hart Street to Don Drumm Stadium. The parade will feature the MHS Wall of Sound, Marquettes, cheerleaders, class attendants, king and queen candidates and class floats accompanied by members of each class. The homecoming dance is sponsored by the sophomore class. The theme is "Night Under the Lanterns," and the dance will be held in the MHS gym from 7-10 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. DJ and light show will be provided by DJ Associates. Marietta High School thanks Student Body President Liam Scott, Vice President Seth Goeller and Marietta High School Student Council for coordinating the homecoming events. They also thank senior class advisor Vicky Hall, junior class advisors Jade Thompson and Kirsten Goeller, sophomore class advisors Alexandria Brown and Cody Jenkins, and freshman class advisors Sophia Hutchinson and Emily O'Connor.
Each class voted for class representatives and the entire student body voted for the 2026 MHS Homecoming King and Queen.
Queen Candidates
* Braxtyn Kroft, 18, is the daughter of Ben and Nancy Kroft. Kroft is a two-year varsity soccer letterman, serving as captain in the 2026-2027 season, and a four-year varsity letterman in basketball. She is a past recipient of the Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award and was named the River City Classic Holiday Tournament Player of the Game in 2024 and 2025. She was also named Ohio All-Academic in the fall of 2025. Kroft is an altar server and a volunteer at summer basketball youth camps. She plans to attend Marietta College next year to study early childhood education and play basketball.
* Kenadee Strauss, 17, is the daughter of Andrew and Shannon Strauss. Strauss earned varsity letters in basketball, track, and cross country. She is a member of the record-breaking MHS girls' varsity golf team and earned the Waterford Invitational Top Four medalist honor. She is also a member of National Honor Society, Interact Club, and Student Council, and she works at The Roseland Coffee Bar. Strauss plans to attend the University of Cincinnati next year to major in finance.
* Brooke Thomas, 17, is the daughter of Melissa and Benjamin Arnold and Craig and Denise Thomas. Thomas is on the dean's list at Washington State College of Ohio and the principal's list at Marietta High School. She is a UCA All-American cheerleader and an MHS varsity cheerleader. She was honored with the Scholar Athlete award for Marietta High School Cheerleading. Thomas is also a member of the Environmental Club and Students Solving Problems. She works as an instructor in the cheer program's Tumble Like a Tiger group. Thomas plans to attend West Liberty University next year to enroll in the dental hygienist program.
* Eva Tornes, 17, is the daughter of Scott and Alyson Tornes. Tornes is the secretary of the National Honor Society. She is also a member of MHS Student Council and currently serves as treasurer. Tornes is on the varsity track team and is the senior tennis team captain. She is a member of Interact Club, Model UN, and Spanish National Honor Society. Tornes plans to attend college next year to pursue a major in the medical field.
* Mallory Westfall, 17, is the daughter of Travis and Candice Westfall. Westfall is the senior class president and the National Honor Society treasurer. She is a varsity sideline and competition cheerleader and a member of the varsity track and field team. She is also part of Interact Club, Spanish National Honor Society, Mock Trial, Student Council, and Model UN. Westfall plans to attend college next year to study business and eventually go to law school.
King Candidates
* Griffin Erb, 17, is the son of Joel and Kaelly Erb. Erb is a member of the National Honor Society and is working toward becoming an Eagle Scout. He is a varsity golfer and has been a member of the golf team all four years of high school. Erb is also in the MHS Interact Club and is an altar server at St. Mary's Catholic Church. He plans to attend the University of Cincinnati next year to study Aerospace Engineering.
* Seth Goeller, 17, is the son of James and Kirsten Goeller. Goeller serves as the Vice President of the Student Body, the President of National Honor Society, and the Vice President of Spanish National Honor Society. He is a First Team All-District baseball player and a member of the MHS varsity baseball team. Goeller also participates in Interact Club and Model UN, and he is the morning sports anchor for the MHS announcements team. Goeller is a member of the Marietta First Church of the Nazarene. He plans to attend college next year to study business administration.
* Carter Hutchinson, 18, is the son of Jon and Missy Hutchinson. Hutchinson is the Vice President of the senior class and the Sergeant at Arms for the National Honor Society. He also participates in Interact Club and Model UN. Hutchinson plans to attend college next year to study business.
* Ayden Sprague, 17, is the son of Adam and Duffy Sprague. Sprague has been a UCA All-American cheerleader for the last three years and is a member of the Marietta Varsity Cheer team. He works at Glenwood as a server and is a member of Students Solving Problems. Sprague plans to attend Ohio State University next year to pursue a degree in architecture.
* Braylon Williams, 17, is the son of Greg and Jenna Williams. Williams is on the Dean's List at Washington State College of Ohio and the principal's list at Marietta High School. He is also a Scholar-Athlete award winner and has coached Bantam League t-ball. Williams has played football for the last six years and is currently a member of the MHS varsity football team. He plans to attend college next year to study business administration.
Junior Class Attendants
The Junior Class Attendants are Kilie Kinney, 16, daughter of Thomas Kinney, and Calib English, 16, son of Chris and Kristin English. Kinney is a 2024-2025 choir competition medalist and has volunteered as a youth Bible School leader at Newport Baptist Church. English is an honor roll student who has also served as a youth Bible School leader at Newport Baptist Church and a volunteer at the Humane Society.
Sophomore Class Attendants
The Sophomore Class Attendants are Jenna Davis, 15, daughter of Mitch and Andrea Davis, and Graesyn Moat, 15, son of Rob and Alicia Moat. Davis plays soccer and is a member of the crew team. She was honored with the Academic Excellence award twice. Davis is a member of MHS Student Council and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Vienna. Moat plays basketball and soccer and has been a varsity player in both sports since his freshman year. He is also a two time winner of the Academic Excellence Award.
Freshman Class Attendants
The Freshman Class Attendants are Addilynn Moore, 15, daughter of Jon and Ali Heightland, and Travis Smith, 15, son of Jessica Dalrymple. Moore is a competitive dancer with Marietta Dance Academy. She is President of the National Junior Honor Society, Vice President of the freshman class, and treasurer of FFA. Smith plays football and is a member of the wrestling and track and field teams.
