MARIETTA - The vascular surgery team at Memorial Health System has received a three-star Commitment to Vascular Quality Improvement Award from the Society for Vascular Surgery Vascular Quality Initiative.
The award recognizes the health system's continued commitment to advancing the quality of vascular care, according to a release from Memorial. Three stars is the highest level available through the Commitment to Vascular Quality Improvement Awards program.
"Our vascular care team leverages VQI data to evaluate the effectiveness of our program, identify opportunities for improvement, and advance meaningful enhancements in the quality, safety, and outcomes of care we provide to our patients," said nurse Georgia Lang.
The annual recognition evaluates participating vascular centers in four areas: long-term patient follow-up, attendance and participation in regional quality efforts, quality-improvement projects and vascular registry participation.
The Vascular Quality Initiative brings vascular specialists and healthcare organizations together to collect and analyze clinical information, share best practices and identify opportunities to improve the safety and effectiveness of vascular care.
