PARKERSBURG - The WVU Medicine Camden Clark Foundation raised nearly $40,000 to support breast cancer screening and diagnostic services for local residents at the annual Pink by Poolside event.
There were 350 guests who gathered at the Parkersburg Country Club for the annual event, held on Friday Sept. 11.
Proceeds from Pink by Poolside benefit the Camden Clark Foundation's Pink Mammogram Fund, which helps provide free mammograms and associated diagnostic services for uninsured and underinsured residents throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley.
"To welcome more than 350 guests and raise nearly $40,000 is a tremendous show of support for the patients who rely on the Pink Mammogram Fund." said Kim Couch, executive director of the Camden Clark Foundation. "Every gift helps provide access to screening mammograms, diagnostics, biopsies and other financial assistance for those in our community who are uninsured or underinsured. It's this continued generosity from our community and local businesses that makes this support possible, and we're incredibly grateful to everyone who continues to stand behind this important effort."
Marking the largest attendance in Pink by Poolside history, this year's event featured a vintage resort-inspired theme with a Palm Royale atmosphere throughout the evening.
For more than a decade, the Camden Clark Foundation's Pink Mammogram Fund has helped local patients access potentially life-saving breast cancer screening and diagnostic services. The fund has covered the cost of more than 3,000 diagnostic procedures since its establishment.
