Taco Bell Foundation grant supports Parkersburg teens

PARKERSBURG -- The Boys & Girls Club of Parkersburg will use a 2026 Taco Bell Foundation Community Grant to support workforce readiness programs for teens, including transportation and program supplies.
This marks the third year the club has been selected for a grant, according to a news release. The local Taco Bell franchisee nominated the club for the award.
"This grant will allow us to provide opportunities to children who otherwise wouldn’t have the chance to experience them," said Elijah Conger, the club's Mary Street assistant unit director.
The funding will help teens access resources to explore careers and develop skills for adulthood.
"We’re so grateful for the continued support of the Taco Bell Foundation, and for their commitment to helping local teens," said Darlene Murphy, the club's CEO. "These dollars go a long way to help our kids learn about different career paths, interview tips or other skills that are needed for adulthood."
The local award is part of $32 million the foundation is awarding to 700 nonprofit organizations nationwide in 2026. The foundation said the total is a record for its Community Grants program and the number of nonprofit partners is up 40% from last year.
The grants are funded through customers who round up their Taco Bell order totals. The program supports education, career readiness, mentorship and youth empowerment, according to the release.
"What I love most about Community Grants is how local they are," said Morgan Tabor, executive director of the Taco Bell Foundation. "Taco Bell franchisees know these organizations, they believe in their work, and together we're helping more young people see just how much is possible for their futures."
