PARKERSBURG - For 13 years, the Camden Clark Foundation's Pink Mammogram Fund has helped remove financial barriers to breast cancer screening and diagnosis for uninsured and underinsured patients in the Mid-Ohio Valley.

Made possible through community generosity, the fund supports access to mammograms and follow-up diagnostic care for qualifying patients who may otherwise go without these services, according to a release from WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center.

The Foundation continues to raise support for the Pink Mammogram Fund through events and local partnerships. Most recently, Pink by Poolside brought community members together once again to raise awareness and nearly $40,000 in support of breast cancer care and early detection.

"We're incredibly grateful to our communities and local businesses for their generosity and support in helping us meet such an important need for area patients," said Camden Clark Foundation Executive Director Kim Couch. "Gifts to the Pink Mammogram Fund directly support screening mammograms, diagnostic services and biopsies for patients who may otherwise face financial barriers to care. As we've seen the needs of patients evolve, we've also continued to explore ways to expand support for those in our community who may need additional assistance throughout their cancer journey."

In addition to the Pink Mammogram Fund, the Camden Clark Foundation also offers assistance through its Cancer Transportation Fund, which provides gas cards to help patients get to and keep treatment appointments, and its Comfort Fund, which helps ease expenses related to cancer treatment, including nutritional supplements, groceries, medications, mastectomy bras, lymphedema sleeves and household utility bills.
