Williamstown High School announces Homecoming Court, activities

Williamstown High School will celebrate its Homecoming with a parade at 1:45 p.m. on Friday followed by a pep rally. They will crown the Homecoming Queen and King during the halftime ceremonies on Friday. The coronation will take place at halftime during the game with Poca High School. The Crown Bearer is Bodie MacIver, son of Bret and Hannah MacIver. The Flower Girl is Amelia Stewart, daughter of Justin and Tarrah Stewart.
Homecoming 2026 Candidates:
* Carter Hoops is the son of Neal and Kia Hoops. His grandparents are Brent and Vicki Viers, and Mark and Cindy Hoops. Hoops is a member of the Varsity Boys Football Team at WHS. He plans on going to Ohio University to pursue a career in Physical Therapy.
* Quinn Bunch is the daughter of Danny and Chas Bunch. Her grandparents are Doyle and Shirley Hupp, Geraldine Hupp, and Jeanie Bunch. Bunch is the Captain of the Varsity Girls Soccer and the Varsity Girls Basketball teams at WHS. She is the Student Body President and has been a four-year member of Student Council. She is the National Honor Society President, a member of the Pep Club, and a member of the National Technical Honor Society. Bunch plans on attending college to study Exercise Physiology while playing basketball. After college, she plans on attending Physical Therapy School.
* Mason Kern is the son of Russ Kern and Keith and Janine Willhide. His grandparents are Otis and Judy Dunfee, Bill and Kathy Dunfee, and his uncle is Scott Willhide. Kern plays Varsity Football and Basketball at WHS. He has also been known to be the Yellowjacket mascot from time to time. He plans to attend college to study Cybersecurity.
* Madilyn Buttrey is the daughter of Jason and Karla Buttrey. Her grandparents are Lorrainne and Larry Smicker, Bernie and Robin Buttrey, and Waynette Price. Buttrey is a member of the Varsity Golf Team. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the Community Care Club, and the Pep Club. She plans on attending college to study either Marketing or Sports Management and continuing her golf career.
* Christian Lockhart is the son of Wes Lockhart and Lori Davis. His grandparents are Bob Pickens and Rose Bonnett, Patti and Steve Tracewell, and Beryl and Shirley Lockhart. Lockhart is a member of the Varsity Boys Wrestling and the Varsity Boys Track and Field Teams at WHS. He plans on attending college to pursue a degree in Power Systems Engineering and would like to throw shot put in college.
* Savannah Russell is the daughter of Travis and Selena Russell. Her grandparents are Rick and Starla Gaiser and Debby Carol. Russell is a Varsity Cheerleader at WHS. She is President of the Senior Class and has been a four-year member of Student Council. She is Vice President of the National Honor Society and a member of the Pep Club and the Community Care Club. Her plans include attending college to pursue a career in Physical Therapy.
* Chase Pickering is the son of David and Donna Pickering. His grandparent is Jean Pickering. Pickering is a member of the Varsity Boys Cross Country Team and the Varsity Boys Track and Field Team. He helps to lead the student section at the Jacket sporting events and is a member of the WHS Concert Band. He plans to attend college to pursue a career in Engineering and to continue his running career.
* Cassie Sites is the daughter of Corey and Andrea Sites. Her grandparents are Robert and Judith Sites, Alison Sites, and Tom and Janell Reynolds. Sites is a member of the Varsity Girls Cross Country team and the Varsity Girls Track and Field Team at WHS. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Community Care Club. She plans on attending college to get a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and continue her running career. After college, she would like to join the military as an Army nurse.
