Memorial Health System has announced that its Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has been recognized by Blue Cross Blue Shield as a Blue Distinction Center for Maternity Care. Memorial plans to open new Athens facility June 13

ATHENS – Memorial Health System will open its new Athens Medical Campus Emergency Department at 206 Columbus Road at 7 a.m. June 13. To celebrate the grand opening, a community open house will be held from 5-7 p.m. May 29 at the facility. URA approves purchase of lot for new McHappy’s

By Kristen Hainkel Staff Reporter PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Urban Renewal Authority voted 7-0 to accept an application from Wayne Waldeck and Wal-Bon Inc. to purchase a 12,750-square-foot lot at 19th Street and St. Marys Avenue for $25,600. Co-owner Bill Waldeck attended the meeting as a representative of Wal-Bon. He said they plan to build a new McHappy’s location on the lot. “We care about Parkersburg.
