Meetings
¯ The Operations Committee of the Warren Local Board of Education will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday. The regular Board meeting will follow at 5 p.m. and begin with a working session to review and discuss the operational and capital budget items for the upcoming fiscal year. The regular monthly business meeting of the Board will begin at 6 p.m. All meetings will be held at the Warren Administration Office, 220 Sweetapple Road, Vincent.
¯ Reno Water and Sewer District will hold its regularly scheduled meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Reno Water office building, 170 Mount Tom Road. Public is welcome. Safe distancing will be practiced and masks are requested because of COVID-19.
¯ The location of the regular February meeting of the Fort Frye Board of Education scheduled for 6 p.m. Feb. 18 has been changed to Salem Liberty Elementary School, 10930 SR 821.

¯ Grandview Township will hold 2021 regular meetings at 6 p.m. the first Monday of each month at the township hall. The following months will be held on different dates: Feb. 16, July 6, and Sept. 13. These meetings will also be held at 6 p.m.
¯ The Decatur Township Board of Trustees and representatives from the Little Hocking Vol. Fire Dept. will open Cutler School for a public informational meeting with question/answer format, regarding the EMS Levy on the upcoming May ballot. To maintain social distance recommendations set forth by the state, two meetings will be held consecutively at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Feb. 22. To reserve a seat, contact the township at 740-667-3006.
¯ Decatur Township will hold its monthly public meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at the township building on Welch Road in Cutler.

¯ The Tunnel-Warren Chapel United Methodist Churches will provide free community
meals from 5-6 p.m. Thursday. The menu will include chili or vegetable beef soup, crackers, cornbread, fruit, a brownie, and bottled water. Meals will be served as drive-through pick-ups in the lower parking lot. To reserve a meal, call Amy at 740-516-0847. Tunnel UMC is located at Ohio 550 and Coffman Road.
¯ Beverly American Legion Post 389 on 5th Street in Beverly will host an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 5-7 p.m. Friday. The cost is $9 and includes fries and coleslaw. Music to follow by Sam Clark from 7-10 p.m. Public welcome.
¯ The First Congregational Church located at 318 Front Street will hold a carry-out only baked steak dinner from 4-5:30 p.m. Saturday. The meal costs $10 and includes baked steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, a roll and desert. Drive-thru for pickup at the North Entrance (First Bank parking lot). To place an order, call the church office at 740-373-0741 before 11 a.m. Feb. 12.
¯ Salem Twp. Vol. Fire Dept. will host a fish fry from 4-7 p.m. Feb. 19 at the Salem Fire Station, SR 821. The menu includes fish, french fries, green beans, applesauce, bread, desserts, beverages and hot dogs. The cost is a donation. Take-out or eat-in; social distancing will be observed.
¯ St. Mary Catholic School will host a Lenten Drive-thru Fish Fry from 5-7 p.m. every Friday starting Feb. 19-March 26. The meal includes fried fish, french fries, green beans and coleslaw. The cost per meal is $10. No call ahead orders; drive-thru service only. Enter through Marion or Montgomery alley entrances.
¯ Lowell American Legion will host a steak fry from 5-8 p.m. Feb. 20. Phone orders begin at 4 p.m. by calling 740-896-3326. Menu includes steak cooked to order, chicken or baked steak, and no meat. All meals include salad with dressing, a baked potato, and a roll. Limited seating; carry-out requested. Signs will be posted for pick-up.
¯ The Castle Historic House Museum will present a virtual audience with Queen Victoria from noon to 1:15 p.m. Feb. 27 during a Virtual Victorian Tea. The event will be presented via Zoom and the cost is $10. For more information and to register, visit mariettacastle.org/virtual-history-camp.
¯ The Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church on Stanleyville Road in Whipple will host its annual Italian Feast from 4-7 p.m. Feb. 27. The meal will be curbside pick-up and include spaghetti, rigatoni, fettuccine, salad, and dessert. To order in advance, call 740-473-2792. Ordering ahead is not mandatory.
¯ Knights of Columbus 4617 in Churchtown will hold a Cornhole Tournament Feb. 28. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and tournament begins at noon inside the gym located at 17472 SR 676, Marietta. Cost is $20/team (bring your own partner). Pay out is 80% of entry (first and second). Event includes a concession stand and 50/50. ¯ First Congregational Church United Church of Christ (318 Front St. in Marietta) will continue its weekly free breakfast as take-out from 8:30-10 a.m. each Saturday. All are welcome.
¯ The Marietta Kiwanis Annual Pancake Days event has been canceled for 2021 due to COVID-19. The organization is accepting donations at mariettakiwanisclub.org and checks can be made payable to: Marietta Community Foundation, Kiwanis Club of Marietta, P.O. Box 1111, Marietta, OH 45750.

¯ AARP Tax-Aide is offering free tax return preparation for all taxpayers on Mondays and Thursdays Feb. 1-April 12. There will be no walk-ins and masks are required due to COVID-19. Taxpayers should bring all tax documents and a copy of last year’s tax returns, plus a photo ID and Social Security cards for all family members. ¯ The Castle Historic House Museum will present “The Separation of Henry and Sarah Dawes: Marital Discord in Early Ohio” for their first Virtual Third Thursday Talk of 2021 from 7-8 p.m. Feb. 18. This virtual offering is free. Donations encouraged. To register, visit mariettacastle.org.
